Why are smoothies at Starbucks?

When will bold be back all day, everyday?

Why are there no change tables in the restrooms?

The automatic machines produce horrible shots. Bring back manuals.

Smoothies are at Starbucks because Frappuccinos broadened the target of Starbucks from older connoisseurs to the young and trendy that want to tote around domed cups full of whipped cream and blended coffee.  Bold will be back all day, everyday eventually if we keep bugging for it.  There's no change tables in the restroom because I will speak for most of my fellow partners and confess that I do not want to bleach *** off of any surface.  We're not janitors, we're baristas.  However, I will agree that the manual machines are more authentic and the automatic machines crap out on me constantly with calibrating and making sure the shot of espresso is at the best quality it could be (coming from an automatic, that is).

How can you relate this human connection with making all the stores in Miami to open Christmas day. It is mandatory to open.

It is only one day a year where we don't have to worry about the daily operation.

It has been a tradition for 38 years, that Starbucks closes on Christmas Day. why now you want to open all your stores in Miami on that Day?'

Howard, you always talk about the human connection, but have you really experienced that in your stores over the last year?  It's different than it was in the beginning.  The employees aren't creating the human connection.  Maybe it's become boring, or just another job, or the magic has worn off, but the energy in the stores is just not the same.  You have the right idea about the human connection, but the meaningful implementation of that idea is missing.

Hello Mr.Schultz:

First of all congradulations in posting mystarbucksideas and sharing all the database with all (employees and customers)- what a great way to build your idea database and build new revenue streams!! Now to take it to the next level, what about rewarding those individuals that post very effective, impact oriented ideas that become "launched" by your company? This could be an additional way to inspire additional ideas and could be good PR for he company.   I recently posted today my idea/comment on this. I hope I will be able to gain your vote and buy in . Thanks for reading my entry :

What a better way to enhance and build your "ideas program" by rewarding individuals that proposes an idea/or concept(s) , which become a full-fledged "launched" idea. Starbucks could reward the winners in these possible forms: A) Invite them to your Corporate HQ location and provide them a certificate or a " Winner's Idea Starbucks coffee cup" with the idea imprinted on the cup or B) Give them a monetary reward ( say a Starbucks card with a $50 credit( or another value) ...) Starbucks may also consider having a GRAND PRIZE contest , which would include the "top 20 Best Launched ideas" and have a vote done (can have a corporate HQ vote/tally or have also a popular vote to count aswell). The winner of this could have the opportuntiy to go to a coffee plantation or a coffee tasting , or some other type of a value added experience. The contest could be global in nature ( include all the best ideas from world!) - From a loyal Atlanta fan of Starbucks

Dear Mr. Schultz,

It is with much dismay that I note that this wonderful site has been hijacked by an individual, or group of individuals with a clear agenda to drive traffic from this site, to one of their own.  However well intended, the commercial value of a website is driven by the volume of traffic it sustains.  Should STARBUCKS MSI be nothing more than a means to their end?

This agenda has also extended beyond this site- to the area of STARBUCKS, once sacred territory of the Barista.  When did it become acceptable for a CUSTOMER to be invited BEHIND the bar to prepare their own drink?  You Mr. Schultz are an employee, and certainly can appreciate the amount of training required, to be behind that bar, and the liability STARBUCKS has for your being there.

Is there ANY circumstance where a CUSTOMER should be permitted to prepare their own drink?

Sounds like a straight forward question- doesn't it?

Showing off a new Clover Starbucks at 2095 Golden Center

Makes for wonderful reading.  It clearly illustrates how a DM came to invite a CUSTOMER to prepare their own beverage.  This story, accompanied by pictures, clearly showing a GREEN APRON CLAD customer, with below shoulder length hair, clearly unrestrained, cascading over the equipment, as she prepares her beverage, is certainly not the image STARBUCKS should be permitting distribution of.  A 'photo-op' is one thing; proper attire, and hygienic practices should still at least appear to be maintained.  In several photos, such appears not to be the case.  I am certain you are aware that the image STARBUCKS must project, is one that embodies strict adherence to the standards of quality and ideals STARBUCKS has set.  I do not believe that these photos, now widely distributed respect those standards.

Context is everything- and when viewed in isolation, who is to know that the person standing behind a CLOVER in a STARBUCKS, wearing a green apron, is not a Barista?  And that is why I am upset that a customer was permitted behind the bar, without any regard to CALIFORNIA CODES

HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 113967-113971

113969. (a) Except as specified in subdivision (b), all food employees preparing, serving, or handling food or utensils shall wear hair restraints, such as hats, hair coverings, or nets, which are designed and worn to effectively keep their hair from contacting nonprepackaged food, clean equipment, utensils, linens, and unwrapped single-use articles.

CUSTOMERS do NOT belong behind the bar. Or, are some customers just "special" exceptions?

MSI is Great. This site has been an outlet for many people who like great coffee and Starbucks. The Gold rewards has also been great, and enjoyed by many. Thank-You

I've created a mouthwatering and delicious recipe using Starbuck's VIA (Mocha Truffle Cheesecake) and am interested to know if the Starbucks corporation would like to develop a recipe section/book for public use.
