Welcome Back to School Teachers
It’s not an apple to welcome teachers back to school, but a cup of coffee. In recognition of teachers, Starbucks is offering school teachers, grades K-12 a complimentary tall cup of brewed coffee on Mondays during the month of September. Bring in your teacher identification to any Starbucks. We appreciate the many ideas you’ve shared on MSI to recognize the wonderful work of teachers. Coffee for the Teachers
Piadini, a new breakfast item
Hi, it’s Erin on the food team and I’m excited today to let you know we have heard you loud and clear. Awhile back we announced that we would stop serving breakfast sandwiches and the passion and feedback was overwhelming; you love our breakfast sandwiches and you want them saved! We made some small ingredient changes to solve the aroma concerns and we will continue to offer a selection of warmed breakfast sandwiches: • Peppered Bacon : Peppered bacon with egg and aged cheddar cheese on an English muffin • Classic Sausage : Classic sausage with egg and aged cheddar cheese on an English muffin • Reduced-Fat Turkey Bacon : Light option with reduced-fat turkey bacon, cholesterol … more »
Alternate Payment and Ordering Update
Hello MSI community! My name is Stephen Gillett, the Chief Information Officer for Starbucks. One of the most frequent themes we read in ideas on MyStarbucksIdea.com centers around alternative purchase and payment methods. Here are two examples: Automatic ordering via swipe of card "I'll buy you a drink" – remotely Thank you for submitting these ideas. We are working very hard to upgrade our point-of-sale systems to enable easy to use features. We expect to have new systems rolling out to stores by mid next year and your feedback came at the perfect time. We were not prioritizing some of these features as highly as you’ve done here, but we will make sure to consider … more »
Great Conversations at Starbucks with GOOD Sheets
Early on, the most popular post on this site has been an idea that is at the very core of what Starbucks is all about – a place where great coffee can bring people together for good conversation and a sense of community. With almost 10,000 votes of support and a staggering 1,029 posted comments, this idea clearly resonates with many of our customers. We’ve been listening to that feedback and thinking of ways to bring this idea to life in our stores, and starting today we hope you’ll like our new conversation-starter: the GOOD sheet. For the next few months we will release the new GOOD sheet in our stores, a new issue each week focusing on a topic that is relevant , and worthy … more »

BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug) Discount
There have been many great ideas posted about re-usable cups and mugs. In addition to ideas for encouraging the use of ceramic serveware in the stores, many have discussed the option of bringing your own mug in for your to-go beverage. First of all, this is a great idea that we fully support and encourage, as Cindy has so enthusiastically stated in her great responses. To encourage using your own mug, Starbucks has long offered a $0.10 discount on your beverage when you bring in your own cup. However, it was clear from some of the ideas that we haven’t done such a good job of publicizing that. We’ve added the messaging back to the menuboard and are working to make sure all baristas … more »
Starbucks Card Rewards Update
Hello! Since the introduction of My Starbucks Idea and Starbucks Card Rewards this spring, it appears as if the two have been inseparable. Like all good relationships, the Rewards team has been listening to the many thoughts you have shared with us on MSI. I am very encouraged to see so much passion and interest in our Rewards program and on the whole, I think both sides share the same goal: Providing Value to our Customers. My own thoughts around value are fairly simple: more than price or cost- there’s also the feeling of being rewarded and appreciated and that is an area we are keen to deliver on. From birthday treats and insider news to the occasional giveaway or earning points, your … more »
