Poll Results: Level of Discourse on MSI

Earlier this week I asked about the conversations on MyStarbucksIdea.  Specifically I wanted to know if you thought the level of discourse was what we all, as a community, wanted it to be.

The answer was a resounding "Yes!".  Just over half of you thought the conversations were "About right".  Full results below.

The average level of discourse on MyStarbucksIdea is:

  • 52%:  About right
  • 9%:  Too low
  • 12%:  Too one-sided
  • 21%:  Not enough Starbucks participation
  • 6%:  Too something else

In the related idea link, there was commentary by Ian G and UrbanVoy especially around it being difficult to follow idea threads on the site.   Several other community members had comments about products or locations, and Momiji and others amplified their calls for more Starbucks participation.  I will say this about that latter comment:  we had a tremendous July--by far the best month ever in terms of moderator participation.  August was derailed a bit as the MSI team was affected by some of the larger changes we went through as a company.  We are now fully back on our feet, however, and participation levels are again surging.

Hi Matt!

Thanks for mentioning moi. lol

The participation needs to be consistant. Not one week a ton of you then the next week a ghost town.

There used to be a chain of restaurants in the North East US years ago called the Mayflower. The motto of the stores was, "As you amble on through life brother whatever be your goal, keep your eye upon the donut and not upon the hole." Words to live by! Please stay focused.
