Starbucks Card Rewards Update

Hello!

Since the introduction of My Starbucks Idea and Starbucks Card Rewards this spring, it appears as if the two have been inseparable.  Like all good relationships, the Rewards team has been listening to the many thoughts you have shared with us on MSI.  I am very encouraged to see so much passion and interest in our Rewards program and on the whole, I think both sides share the same goal: Providing Value to our Customers.

My own thoughts around value are fairly simple: more than price or cost- there’s also the feeling of being rewarded and appreciated and that is an area we are keen to deliver on.  From birthday treats and insider news to the occasional giveaway or earning points, your ideas have been a part of our discussion.  Some of you may have been on the receiving end of different goodies we’ve been testing this summer.

Registered rewards members who have opted into our direct email and mail communications have been invited to Starbucks® Sorbetto launch parties in the LA market, experienced Vivanno™ Nourishing Blends across the country and most recently have tried our new Perfect Oatmeal and exchanged opinions with Brad Stevens, my vp, about our new breakfast options. The latter has been truly fulfilling as thousands of members have responded to Brad- and you should know he is attempting to read and respond to as many as he can!

This gives me an opportunity to share with those who are interested in receiving offers to update your Starbucks account with your most updated mailing address information and email preferences at www.starbucks.com.  Then click on the ‘Your Account’ tab.  We have a lot more planned and want you to be a part of all that Starbucks Card Rewards has to offer!

Real dialogue with our Rewards members and our team is an amazing feat and this is thanks to all of you.  Keep talking to us and we’ll continue to enhance our rewards program as our way of saying “Thanks!”

Take care,
Sally
Starbucks Card Rewards member since 2008

Please bring back the treat receipt.  Maybe,  you could make it a part of the rewards program.  Or how about whatever is new like the new Hot Cocoa could be $2.00 after 2pm.  Or try the new breakfast sandwich tomorrow for $2.50.  Anything to keep us trying new stuff and coming back.  We like to feel like we are getting extra perks for coming everyday!

I agree with purple1.  I drink iced green tea year-round and the everyday-type card benefits don't affect me at all (I did get enjoy the free Vivanno & oatmeal coupons, though.)  A barista told me today about an upcoming Gold Card that would better suit my tastes...but I have not seen any info on it on the SBUX or MSI websites.

Why is it some stores 'announce' one's savings (ex. free soy) and other stores don't - it's very confusing to know if I am getting a discount or not most of the time.   Shouldn't it show on the receipt?  Do I have to ask each time, or is automatic?

I am a pilot program Gold Card. Why is this WONDERFUL program ending ?  And what is the plan to continue with the buy 10 get one free for us daily loyal customers.

I would hope that those of us in the pilot Gold Card program would be invited to continue with the "official" Gold card.  It's only fair...

I have not received an invitation.  (I definitely also spent over $50 a month using that Gold Card).

My gold card was only a 2% back deal, it was never a buy 10 get one free!

Those of us in the pilot program were the ones that worked out a lot of the kinks.  There were definitely kinks in Vancouver!  Especially with that free pastry offer.  The free pastry e-mail offer did not work in Vancouver!!!!  Talk about embarrassing as every barista in the store tries to process the free pastry, as the lineup gets longer and longer behind you and you are embarrassed out of your skull!  : (

I'm in Denver and received my Gold Card at the beginning of a Pilot in this area.  I'm so dissappointed to see they are concluding the gold card at the end of October and, from what I read, the program is being scrapped??? Why???  I've enjoyed feeling "special" and was hoping that some of the "perks" would become a permanent part of the gold card.  I appears the "problems" have now been solved.  So what's the deal???

I visit starbucks 2 or more times DAILY. I order the same item everytime and depending on the drive thru cashier the price is always different! I use my registered card, but they still charge me for different items like caramel drizzle although it is "free with card" it is rung up as caramel sauce so they can charge me! Also, my Starbucks card and everyone else that spends over $10 a day in your store-I get nothing for frequent purchases. I truly believe that the registered card can track amounts of drinks purchased and after 5 Ventis get one free for example. That would truly encourage me to come in more often and bring the kids. Currently-I can't afford the strawberry Creme they love so much or I spend $20  a day! Please consider this. Local Coffee Shops have punch cards to track purchases and give you a free drink when the card is full. A truly antique ideal that truly needs to be revisited by Starbucks. And Carmel Sauce?  Come on people drizzle free, but if rang up sauce (they are the same thing!) Please reward the addicts as we will keep you going for years to come. Just respect us a little more.

Why aren't seasonal syrups included in the registered perks??!!??  It is NOT advertised anywhere in the store that Gingerbread, pumpkin, and Peppermint are not free.  I like to flavor my coffee or Americano with the syrups which is why I registered my card.  Actually the web says Peppermint is included but a store manager told me for winter it's not.  So that is TOTAL false advertisement!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok starbucks card dept- When are you going to put free iced tea refills as a reward? Shame on you for not having it as a reward.
