Piadini, a new breakfast item

Hi, it’s Erin on the food team and I’m excited today to let you know we have heard you loud and clear.  Awhile back we announced that we would stop serving breakfast sandwiches and the passion and feedback was overwhelming; you love our breakfast sandwiches and you want them saved!  We made some small ingredient changes to solve the aroma concerns and we will continue to offer a selection of warmed breakfast sandwiches:

• Peppered Bacon: Peppered bacon with egg and aged cheddar cheese on an English muffin
• Classic Sausage: Classic sausage with egg and aged cheddar cheese on an English muffin
• Reduced-Fat Turkey Bacon: Light option with reduced-fat turkey bacon, cholesterol-free egg and reduced-fat natural, aged white cheddar cheese on a multi-grain English muffin
• Spinach Feta Wrap: Light option with spinach, roasted tomato and feta with egg wrapped in a wheat lavosh

You also said you want new, great tasting breakfast alternatives and today we are launching a new line of artisanal breakfast pastries called Piadini.  Piadini are inspired by traditional Italian flavors and are a delicious combination of rich buttery dough folded with mouth watering fillings like egg, cheeses, vegetables or meats.

• Portobello Mushroom Piadini: A delicious combination of portabella mushrooms, spinach, creamy feta and ricotta cheeses, and fluffy eggs
• Sausage, Egg and Cheddar Piadini: A hearty breakfast with sausage, melted cheddar and eggs wrapped in soft, buttery herbed, pastry

My favorite is the Sausage, Egg and Cheddar Piadini.  I hope you will stop by a participating store to try them and let us know your favorite.

Fix, don't get rid of breakfast sandwiches

It was sad to see the Spinach Florentine Sandwich taken off the menu.  I went into Starbucks today specifically for it.  I hope you reconsider.  Right now you have no vegetarian options for the English muffin sandwiches.

Sounds very tasty, but doesn't sound like they'd be easy to eat at my desk.  Also, the "buttery pastry" doesn't sound like something I'd allow myself to eat more often than occasionally.  The (warm!) spinach cheddar biscuit was easy to eat at my desk and was one of the healthiest items on your menu.  Would you consider bringing it back?

The new breakfast items are great!  I miss the Eggs Florentine & the Sundried Tomato Breakfast Sandwiches.  However,  I tried the new Portobello Mushroom Piadini and I loved it.  I also tried the Perfect Oatmeal and surprisingly enjoyed it "considering I've never liked oatmeal."

I was excited to share your Portabello Piadini with a friend of mine until she pointed out that the Piadini did not taste healthy at all. So Iwas shocked to discover that the nutritional content showed that the Piadini is LOADED with 18 grams of FAT (9 of which are SATURATED FAT= BAD). I thought Starbucks was going to offer healthier breakfast items. Had I known this Piadini was so unhealthy, I would have purchased a donut instead because I at least would have known how unhealthy it was for me beforehand.

How about a breakfast item that has no eggs in it? I can't eat eggs and I would like to have something to eat while I am drinking my coffee.

Hi there, I'm not sure why the ham, egg and cheese muffin sandwich had to be removed? To me this a major breakfast staple! And for what... the odor??? What is it with listening to a few minority whiners about food odors? Personally I've never smelled anything cooking at a Starbucks, nor would care if I did. Unfortunately I have to report that I have stopped going to Starbucks in the morning on my way to work since the discontinuation of the ham/egg/cheese sandwich. I tried the sausage items but just can't seem to "want" sausage every morning. Ham is a much healthier, and tasty alternative.

Hooray for more savory items! If Starbucks introduced more warm savories that are lunch/dinner appropriate that would make my time at Starbucks even better. Little cheese filled nibbles are the first thing to come to mind...

I really like the portobello piadini, although as I read buttery crust, I realize I'll have to pace myself a bit. ;-)

Is there any likelihood of a low-fat piadini, maybe with a more whole-grain wrapper?

The new items may be great, however, nothing replaces the Eggs Florentine.  Please bring back the Eggs Florentine!

This would be amazing! It would be so great if Starbucks, would carry GF options, I visit almost daily cafes and being recently diagnosed with Celiac, makes quick options at my favorite coffee shops, truly difficult. I would go to Starbucks even more if I knew I could safely grab a snack there too. I would love to see GF muffins, pumpkin/banana breads, GF chocolate, GF, cookies, GF crackers and even cheese, or salads with dressing (that are labelled saftely GF). These products must be very clearly labelled and protected from cross contamination from all other products. Signs would be great, also baristas telling customers is great as well. It would be great also for lists of GF drinks. That way it's very clear as too what is safe. This is so great! I'm so glad Starbucks is thinking of GF options. I can't wait.... Also I gave yet to see the Ameretii cookies you mention....

Also...my favorite....GF biscotti!

What happened to the berry stellas?  They suddenly disappeared.  Our store was always running out of them.  I liked that they were a healthy alternative.  I don't care for oatmeal.

When Starbucks first introduced breakfast sandwiches, I had a couple of free samples and thought they were all tasty. But I liked the egg florentine one best, and sometimes I would stop in a Starbucks and get one. (I'm not a big fan of the milky sweet coffee drinks that everyone seems to love, the regular coffee is too bitter, and I no longer work near a Starbucks, so Starbucks is otherwise not usually a destination for me, other than to buy coffee beans.) When a Starbucks opened near my house, I was looking forward to enjoying egg florentine sandwiches. I went in to get one this morning-- and I stared at the menu, wondering what happened. The only spinach option was a sad wrap with eggwhites. I got a ham, egg and cheddar sandwich, but it was eh, the egg part with a weird spongy consistency. The Starbucks atmosphere is a whole lot nicer than McDonalds, but for a breakfast sandwich to go, I may as well go to McDonald's or a deli, which offers the same standard combination--with a more identifiable egg--for less. If you bring back the florentine, let me know.
