Introducing the Starbucks Reading Circle!
I'd like to take a moment to tell you about one of the greatest pairings of all: a great book and a great cup of Starbucks ® coffee. My name is Marshall and I work on the books and music content team. I get the privilege of working on ‘all things books' at Starbucks, which is why I'm so excited to share an update with you! Last week, a new book hit the shelves of your local Starbucks. Happens Every Day , written by Isabel Gillies, is a true story about marriage, life, and love. Isabel describes the end of her fairytale marriage with honesty and compassion as she reminds readers that life does go on after tragedy. In addition to Happens Every Day , we are also launching the … more »
Vegetarian Options
Hi, it’s Megan (sbx_mdro) from the food team! There has been a lot of buzz on MSI about vegetarian options and the importance of offering them in our stores. I want to let you know that we definitely hear you and are always looking for the best way to offer great food that fits your lifestyle. I thought I would take this time to let you know about the great vegetarian options we currently offer and get some feedback from you on what other vegetarian options you’d like to see. (We consider vegetarian to be a meat-free diet. Some of these items do contain eggs and milk.) Here are some great options you can find in your participating Starbucks stores, across the U.S.: • Spinach … more »
Brewed Coffee in the afternoon
There have been many comments and posts about brewed coffee availability in the afternoon. I want to acknowledge that we’ve heard your frustrations, share our policies around decaf and Today’s Morning Pick (our bolder offering), and try to offer some resolution for those of you who aren’t receiving the experience you expect from Starbucks. We last communicated our brewed coffee standards to you on MSI in January. I wanted to share these again to help clarify. • Decaf Pike Place Roast™ and Today’s Morning Pick should be continually brewed until 12 p.m. in all stores. (from 5 a.m. until 12 p.m. in 24-hour stores) • After 12 p.m., stores should consider their … more »
A (RED) Update
To date Starbucks customers have generated contributions equal to more than 3.7MM daily doses of antiretroviral medicine through the purchase of select (Starbucks) RED products like the (Starbucks) RED Holiday Exclusives and (Starbucks) RED Card. This equates to providing lifesaving antiretroviral therapy to more than 10,000 people with HIV in Africa for one year. You can help us keep the momentum going by purchasing U2's amazing new album No Line on the Horizon . Currently #1 on the Billboard 200, U2's No Line on the Horizon is coming off of one the most successful launch week's Starbucks has experienced since we started carrying entertainment product. Every time someone purchases … more »
Introducing a New Store Design
Have you heard about the newest Starbucks store in Seattle? On March 13, we opened a Starbucks store in Seattle on 1st Ave @ Pike Street that is truly in a class of its own as it is the first store to be built using our new design concept that connects our stores to our coffee heritage. So, what’s so special about this new design concept? Inspired by our original store at Pike Place Market, this new store is not only beautiful, it uses local materials and green design to enhance the customer experience. This new store design is part of our effort to have all of our new company-operated stores worldwide certified green by the end of 2010 under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership … more »
