On March 13, we opened a Starbucks store in Seattle on 1st Ave @ Pike Street that is truly in a class of its own as it is the first store to be built using our new design concept that connects our stores to our coffee heritage. So, what’s so special about this new design concept? There have been many comments and posts about brewed coffee availability in the afternoon. I want to acknowledge that we’ve heard your frustrations, share our policies around decaf and Today’s Morning Pick (our bolder offering), and try to offer some resolution for those of you who aren’t receiving the experience you expect from Starbucks. We last communicated our brewed coffee standards to you on MSI in January. My Starbucks Idea celebrates its one year anniversary today. You have shared over 70,000 ideas. In the first year 94 ideas have been put into action and 25 of those have launched including – Instant Coffee , Venti Travel Cup , and Bring Back Tea Lattes . Your ideas have inspired us to think of relevant and creative ways to enhance our Rewards programs - including free Wi-Fi and a birthday beverage . Since we launched 12 months ago the site has added some new features like the ability to vote down an idea and consolidate repeat ideas - ideas that you submitted early on. Starbucks has introduced a new coffee: Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew. It is proportioned for an 8 oz. serving and only needs hot or cold water to brew in an instant. Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew Italian Roast or Colombia is now available in select Seattle and Illinois stores. It is also available at www.starbucksstore.com . In a recent MSI poll I asked where you will brew this new coffee.
