An Update on (STARBUCKS)RED

Hi there! My name is Lindsey Austin, and I work on the Marketing Team. I support our partnership with (PRODUCT)RED™, a key component of Starbucks™ Shared Planet™ and our ongoing commitment to the people and communities that grow our coffee.

You’ve probably already noticed the arrival of Summer brought with it a bunch of cool new (STARBUCKS)RED products, including the (STARBUCKS)RED Tumbler, (STARBUCKS)RED Water Bottle, (STARBUCKS)RED 1 lb African Whole Bean Coffee and the “World Is Africa” CD. Every time you purchase one of these products, Starbucks will contribute $1 U.S. to the Global Fund to help people living with HIV in Africa.

Also back by popular demand is the (STARBUCKS)RED Card. Through December 31, 2009, Starbucks will contribute 5 cents U.S. from every purchase made with the Card to the Global Fund. This beautifully designed Card gives you a chance to do something good every time they make a purchase at one of our stores. All those nickels add up fast.

In the seven months since we began our partnership with (PRODUCT)RED, sales of (STARBUCKS)RED products have generated contributions equaling more than four million daily doses of antiretroviral medicine. It’s pretty amazing to think about what we’ve already accomplished, and this is just the beginning.

Thank you for your support of (STARBUCKS)RED!

Lindsey

I love the "World is Africa" CD.  That's my pick for my favorite (RED) product in stores currently.

I would like to see more sugar free Frappuccino and consistency with the Starbuck employees as to what a light frapp.... really means. Some tell me it means no whip cream and some say it is a frapp... mix made with Splenda. I am diabetic and I really want to know so I know what to order. I feel like wearing a sign saying "I am diabetic please make me sugar free coffee (or non coffee drink) I can enjoy with my friends that is good summer drink like a Frapp...."

It takes forever if I go into a Starbucks where they don't know what I am talking about and try to explain the whole thing over. The only one I found so far is Dolce latte or is it cappuccino made as a light frappiccino with sugar free cinnamon. What else is available or what better way can I tell they what I need or want?
