Together we are Shaping the Future of the Starbucks Card

Hi,

Over the past few months, I have been reading your ideas and comments for incentives or special offers related to the Starbucks Card.  I’ve learned a lot about what sparks your interest like our one-time Starbucks Card 5-pack at Costco and Visa's $5 bonus load for new registered card members.  I’ve noticed more than anything that your ideas about offering incentives all share a common principal: you want your Starbucks Card to bring you value.

We’ve heard you and have a way to give you more value than ever.  Just register your Starbucks Card and when you use it you’ll get great benefits like a free tall (12 fl. oz.) brewed or hand-crafted beverage with a 1lb. whole bean purchase, a free refill on brewed coffee, up to two hours of free AT&T Wi-Fi, and free select syrups and milk options- at no cost to you.  So, that grande soy vanilla latte you pick up on your way to work instantly saves you up to 70 cents each time you pay with your Starbucks Card!  The more you use it, the more you save…just for registering your Card.  Small savings like that can really add up over time.  Registering your Card also provides balance protection if it’s ever lost or stolen so you don’t have to worry about losing money.

In addition, if you want to make a difference, pick up a Starbucks (RED)™ Card and every time you use it*, Starbucks will donate five cents (U.S.) to the Global Fund to help fight AIDS.  With each swipe of the card, you are helping to save lives in Africa.

From saving money to helping others, your ideas have opened new paths for creating value.  So keep your ideas coming -- your voice is our inspiration.

For full program benefits and to register your card, please visit www.starbucks.com/card.

Thanks,
Sally

What is the status of offering free iced tea refills for people that stay in the store? Coming soon I hope. Please don't forget this reward.

This is nothing new, you are just repeating the benefits for a Registered Starbucks Card that Starbucks began a couple of years ago. What would really be new (and often requested in MSI) is combining the Registered Card benefits with the Gold Card.

I agree that there does not seem to be any new rewards yet implemented or changes made.

It would be great to get an update on where some things stand:

-Will you be offering the Costco promotion again?

-Will you be integrating the savings on milk options to the gold card?

Many thanks for having a conversation with us.

I don't feel that I get much value from my registered card.  I don't use syrups or soy.  I'd rather get a free drink or discount after the purchase of 10.  I think the frequent buyer needs a better reward system without having to go to a Gold Card.

Sally - Kenton Cornett here. Glad to see your contribution and passion for Starbucks is still going strong.  Just received a Gold Card last Christmas and love the rewards!

It has been a while, so I don't blame you if you can't remember, but I started as a barista in Redmond, WA  just as you were transferring to purchasing for new stores. If you get a chance, would like to catch up and talk with you about your career path at Starbucks. Feel free to reach me at kenton.cornett@gmail.com

Take care! & Keep making our ideas come true ;)

What is the status of offering a mini gold card to add to our keychain like you have for the regular card? Many people have asked for it. SB are you listening?

Thanks Cecile. Can you give us any teasers about what is coming in September? Free iced tea refills for those folks that stay in the store? Cumulative savings for gold card users? Combining rewards onto the gold card? Mini gold card?

Excellent work so far!  Can you try to bring healthier food options as I go to starbucks daily and can not eat anything there because I'm lactose intolerant...maybe add a dairy free/lactose free muffin, tofu cream cheese, etc

I want to see the cards, both registered and Gold, honored at licensed stores. Those of us who live in more rural areas do not have access to corporate stores, only licensed ones. I am an every day customer but it does me no good to have either card because the licensed stores will not honor them. My registered card is used like a gift card, I get no milk/syrup benefits. The coupons I get from my Gold card are not accepted either.

There was a previous thread on cards where you promised to "Keep you informed"....why haven't you Kerri? What is Starbucks doing to enable licensed stores to accept the cards?

With the goldcard, offer free espresso shot each time the gold member saves 5.00 from using their gold card.  These can be "rollover" if they want to save them for another time.  The screen can show the barista they are eligible for "x" shots and if they want to use them in their drink they just purchased, (after the first sbux gold card swipe).  The computer will be able to go back and add the free shot/s if they want it at that time.  Also if they save 5.00 in one single purchase--they automatically get 5 shots on their card.  The goldcard member will feel like more of a VIP with this offer.

I agree with DadCooks2 -- what is the point of this post?  There is nothing new here.
