"Report Abuse" feature - now live on MSI

Hi there,

I wanted to share with you a site feature that just launched - Report Abuse!  So far, the community has done a good job of staying focused primarily on ideas, but from time to time some get a little off track.  We have now provided an MSI abuse reporting function on each idea.  Once logged in simply click on the link under the idea and it is flagged to the MSI moderators.  If you see some unacceptable language, spam,  something is miscatgorized - it is now easier to let us know!

Thanks for your help in keeping us focused on generating ideas!

Cecile

Although I applaud this new site feature and think it is a valuable new tool, what has happened with the promise of updating the website? It is still quite frustrating to find new comments, follow comments, etc. Where are we with this? Why can't there be a revamped msi website with this new site feature included?

Hi purple1,

We're looking at adding the inbox enhancements later this fall.

Well unfortunately the system is useless unless you moderators take action on the posts. I've reported many posts and none of them have gotten removed. For example, I have reported about 3 posts where all there was was a link to another website. Why would you not remove those? Are you just trying to make it look like you are taking care of spam when you are not?

Also, I am not sure why my screen name changes to some random thing when I enter this blog. It is getting annoying.

Hay Cecile this is a step in the right direction but unfortunately by the time one of us sees it and reports it hundreds maybe thousands have already seen it and quite possibly didn't report it.  I'm mainly referring to threads that have other people's web sites in them for free advertising purposes.  The thing, I feel, would be more effective is some sort of filter or sofware that monitors MSI 24/7 and when it detects a thread with an imbeded web site it immediately deletes it so no one has a chance to see it.  Same with disgusting threads with foul and vile language like the one I reported to you and you thanked me for.  I wonder how many people saw that before I did.

Also Cecile these spammers know you people are pretty lax on deleating their spam so they keep on putting it up knowing that by the time on of us sees it and reports it it is too late and their message has been seen.  Also see my latest thread called Are you the slighest bit interested in eliminating spam?
