Follow Me on the Road

Hey there, it’s Brad from the digital team at Starbucks.  I’m writing to you today as I get ready to leave for a two week road trip across the U.S. and Canada.  The purpose of my road trip will be to share Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew with all those who I run into.

The road trip starts here in Seattle and ends in New York City on September 29th.  During the two weeks, I’ll be driving to various cities and towns and introducing people to Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew.  We originally launched this awesome product in Seattle, Chicago, and the UK back in March but starting on September 29th, you’ll be able to find it at your local Starbucks.  You might be able to find it even sooner if your city is one of the stops on the road trip!

For the latest information from the road, be sure to follow @StarbucksLive on Twitter.  I’ll be tweeting about our road trip schedule and also be sharing some pictures from the open road.  Look forward to talking to you on Twitter or maybe even in your hometown.

Cheers!

Brad

Have fun, Brad!

Hi Brad: I see that you are on the digital team for Starbucks. Our company, Neighborhood Connection is in pre-launch creating a social network for neighbors, local business owners/managers and local elected officials and we believe that allowing NC subscribers to makr their local starbucks manager or regional manager a part fo their neighborhood merchant group would benefit Starbucks in being a social networking medium at the local level with cusotmers all acrcoss the world and would engage the local starbucks management at store level and regional. Our NeighborFinder, CouponGenerator are all local plays as well as allowing local businesses to create a social network. We have caught the attention of Union Square Ventures, (twitter investor) IdeaLab and others. I would like to partner with Starbucks. Our pre-launch demo which is a week old can be seen at, although I need to walk you through which functions are working:

If you like, let me know your e-mail and I send you a summary and lets chat when you have a chance. Neighborhood Connection could tie in with the MyStarbucks site as well.

Hello Chris:  My name is Melody. I do NOT work for Starbucks. I will say though, I am always surprised by spontaneous solicitations in places not designed for that. I have a couple of thoughts in response your above missive.

(1) Since you're attempting to enter into a pecuniary relationship with Starbucks, I suggest double checking all correspondence for typos.

(2) Know your client - Starbucks already has a community-based networking website quite like what you're describing above.  Take a look at this link here - http://www.v2v.net/starbucks.  Also, as you may know, if you know Starbucks, coupons traditionally have not been part of the Starbucks brand image.  I believe that Starbucks is becoming increasingly interested in coupons given the economy, but at least historically speaking, they've been antithetical to the brand identity.

(3) Know where to go to: Since I know many in Digital Strategy, I know Brad is probably not the best person to turn to under these limited facts and circumstances. I think the best I can do is point you to the correct link on how to submit a business proposal:

www.starbucks.com/.../faq_qanda.asp

Lastly, take everything I wrote with a grain of salt. Remember, I'm just an ordinary customer!
