Idea in Action from StarbucksStore.com

Hi everyone,

My name is Adam and I work on a team called Digital Ventures.  One of the areas that my team oversees is StarbucksStore.com.  For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the site, StarbucksStore.com is an e-commerce website where you can order whole bean and ground coffee (including Starbucks VIA(Tm) Ready Brew), tea, brewing equipment, music, gift options and even Starbucks branded gear.  You can also sign-up for a convenient subscription program to have your favorite Starbucks coffee (yes, including Starbucks VIA(Tm)) or tea mailed directly to your home or office on a regular basis.  Check it out if you haven’t already!

The reason I am writing on MyStarbucksIdea today is because an idea posted on the site about StarbucksStore.com has officially been turned into action and I wanted to share it with you all. Here’s the idea from Sarah with a H that sparked the action:

I send support letters and packages to military personal overseas. They LOVE the Via products and I would like to send them more or sign up soldiers for an automatic delivery. At the moment your mailing system won't accept an FPO/APO. It would be great if there could be a discount or free delivery to an FPO/APO. GOOD instant coffee such as VIA is a great gift to anyone serving abroad!<<user:Sarah with a H>>

Today I’m happy to say that we have confirmed that StarbucksStore.com not only accepts FPO/APO mailing addresses but we have also lowered the starting shipping rates for FPO/APO addresses to be the same as the contiguous 48 states!

Thank you Sarah for your great idea.  To the rest of you – please continue send us your amazing ideas – we are listening!

Adam

Thanks Adam. As Starbucks VIA is being launched in the near future. I intend to purchase 300 units and send it to troops overseas stationed at Al-Asad, Ramadi and Sadr City. I'm sending them in flat rate boxes which means a few extra Starbucks items can be fit in there like Starbucks gums and mugs.

Why won't starbucks start using almond milk instead of soy or as an other option? I would go to starbucks more often if you did! And so would more health-concious people, raw foodists, vegans, people with allergies..etc.!

SOY DANGERS:

High levels of phytic acid in soy reduce assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. Phytic acid in soy is not neutralized by ordinary preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting and long, slow cooking. High phytate diets have caused growth problems in children.

Trypsin inhibitors in soy interfere with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic orders. In test animals soy containing trypsin inhibitors caused stunted growth.

Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and have the potential to cause infertility and to promote *** cancer in adult women.

Soy phytoestrogens are potent antithyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease.

Vitamin B12 analogs in soy are not absorbed and actually increase the body’s requirement for B12.

Soy foods increase the body’s requirement for vitamin D.

Fragile proteins are denatured during high temperature processing to make soy protein isolate and textured vegetable protein.

Processing of soy protein results in the formation of toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines.

Free glutamic acid or MSG, a potent neurotoxin, is formed during soy food processing and added to many soy foods.

Soy foods contain high levels of aluminum which is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys.

I had to cancel my subscription and load my card manually because your site and [eople would randomly charge my card $50 even when I had an available balace and your people had no explanation and were pretty rude.
