Hey this would be great, if it worked in Australia. You can't have a successful product if only a small portion of the world has access to it.

Could have been a nice application, if it allowed usernames shorter than 6 characters... Now the bug in the application doesn't allow you to login if you have a 5 character username. What idiotic limitation is that? I cannot use the app at all, it doesn't even try to log me in!

Oh, the irony… The location of the Queen & Bathurst store in Toronto, Ontario is 580 Queen St. W., not 580 Bathurst Street. The iPhone app and Website will send you the wrong way. Better to find a closed store than no store at all…

K.C., the Starbucks application on the iPhone was made by a very passionate developer that did a fantastic job. If the data was sometimes incorrect or you wanted additional functionality, why did you you not even attempt to contact the developer to work out an arrangement rather than taking the legal route?

They were helping to extend your brand for less than the the application was worth in my opinion. There are other applications that search for Starbucks that are free. Are they more accurate or just that they're free and they don't rub Starbucks the wrong way.

As a loyal customer and a software developer it just left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak.

Please make it available on the Philippines store :) Even if the find nearest starbucks feature won't work, I still want the additional info + mix your own drink feature :D :D :D

I would love a Canadian version.

Vancouver, BC Canada has more Starbucks stores than Seattle. I have 3 within 1 block of my house and 12 more within 8 blocks. I'm just saying that it would be nice if we could use the products too.

It is slightly ironic that for the you-tube video, you the store your store locator zooms in on has an error in the address. I had previously contacted Starbucks several months ago and told them that the 1st & Pike store is at 102 Pike Street and not 102 Pike Place, but generally speaking I question whether anyone listens to Melody.

I believe wholeheartedly that a mobile application would make spontaneous Starbucks cravings that much more easier to satisfy. I say; let's see how this takes off with iPhone applications. It if goes well, I would recommend porting the application(s) to Android, Blackberry, WebOS (Palm Pre) and maybe even Windows Mobile platforms (because although very popular, not everyone owns an iPhone) so even more customers can take advantage of this mobile app simplicity. I also second requests already made here to find Starbucks outside the U.S. But of course, I do acknowledge these apps are first generation. Hopefully, the changes requested here will come about in future iterations. Kudos on the apps. though!

Please add Duetto support to this application, it's frustrating given that's it the only Sbux card I use..

Sadly these apps are not available for Canadian Customers ... wish they were as these look like they are very useful for someone like me ... who purchases coffee from Starbucks twice a day min.

Is there any possibility that these will be made available in the Canadian iTunes store any time soon?

I am ready for this to be brought forward to a BlackBerry Storm and allow me to use it with my Gold Card.  Beta tester willing and able.

I love this idea and have already downloaded to my touch, however the process in which it take to log on is forever.  Please consider making Wifi free to all guests so we can just walk in and order.  I have a registered Starbucks visa card but the signing on takes a few minutes.  I would love to be able to connect instantly.

If I follow the directions to my neighborhood Starbucks using the new, official app I would end up a couple of miles away from the actual store. That seems like a problem.  

Blackberry users are also great Starbucks customers.  When is the app for Blackberry (and other platform) users due out?  Like the person above (Admiral) I'm a beta tester in the making!  And I agree...add Gold Card info as well.  Blackberry, blackberry, blackberry....are you getting the hint?

What about something for Blackberry folks who also like Starbucks?

ya know, aps for different smartphones generally just have different wrappers and not a lot of different code.  So if you can create an iPhone app, you can also create an android app... sure would be nice if there were Starbucks apps for MyTouch 3G and Blackberry smart phones as well as iPhones.  I would have an iPhone, but I refuse to do business with ATT.

OMG, this was my idea!!  I posted it a couple months ago when I tried to reload my card from my iPhone and the operating system wouldn't let me.  Now I can reload my cards wherever I am.

I downloaded the Starbucks Card Mobile app to my iPhone 3GS early this morning and it hasn't worked yet. I get the message "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again or come back later.". Un- and re-installing doesn't help, and my credentials work fine on the web.

Anyone else having this problem?

to bsgamble - yes, I got the same message several times but eventually I loaded both apps successfully, added $25 using my Visa (wish they took AmEx), and checked my balance. The $25 plus the $5 offer had been added to my Stbx gold card.  Love it. Now waiting to see when I can use it to pay here in LA.

bsgamble -I get the same message too consistently too, even though my credentials also work fine on the web.

it's great but not perfect! the application needs minor touch-ups, and perhaps a couple glitches to be fixed.

The store hours for Laniakea DT in Hawaii are not always correct in the application for example. The store is open 4:30am to 10:00pm except for Sundays, 5:00am to 9:30pm. Sometime the application will show the Sunday hours listed under Saturday, and sometimes the application will list the hours correctly.

Strawberry is a free-pour sauce and shouldn't be treated as if baristas would pump it into a beverage. The coffees section needs to reflect the current whole bean offerings-- Organic Serena Blend is no longer available in retail stores, and was replaced by Organic Yukon Blend. Specifying the coffee intensities (mild, medium, bold, x-bold) would be great. Cup markings for certain beverages  are either incorrect (specifically Cinnamon Dolce Frappuccino Blended Creme and kid's beverages), or unavailable (kid's cold milk/chocolate milk/apple juice).

On a side note, Starbucks stores in Hawaii offer syrups and pastries not listed in the application. Starbucks Hawaii stores carry Coconut and Thai year-round, and feature the Starbucks Hawaii Oatcake, and the Ham Egg & Cheese Croissant.

I’m getting the same results as bsgamble and others with the card app. I have tried a dozen times since I downloaded the app yesterday, and I still keep getting the “An unexpected error has occurred,” message.

I have no trouble signing on to the site, and my internet connection on the iPhone is excellent. It’s a great idea, and I hope you can get it to work.

I am also getting the same error as everyone else.  I can log into the website fine, but when I gone to log in to the app yesterday and today I get "An unexpected error occurred.  Like everyone above.

I even tried using  the wrong password, "I get Invalid Login/Password". So I am able to reach your authentication server.

Seems that the app, doesn't like my user name and password, which works fine on the web.

Folks - no issues with the apps themselves on my iPhone ... just curious as to why the decision was made to go with 2 apps?  Seems like it could be rolled into one called "myStarbucks"?

Funny thing.  I have a Starbucks Gold card.  I'm getting the same error most people hare are getting regarding not being able to long into the store account.  I would type in the # on my card manually but its constant use has resulted in the # being scrubbed off the card.  The online website does not allow you to see all the #'s so i'm left with NO WAY of getting my info into the app.  PLEASE HELP!!!  

I'm also seeing the unexpected error when I enter the right username/password.  I've tried changing my username and password with no luck.  I also tried entering the card number separately, but the app tells me that I can't because it's a registered to an account (the one I can't login with).   This has been the case for the past 24 hours.  

I created a new account and it worked immediately; my old account refuses to work.  Very odd.

@KC MacLaren - As I wrote above, I DID contact Starbucks DIRECTLY and immediately upon realizing the address was incorrect. zThat was a good 8 weeks ago. The tone of your reply to me is snarky.  

@KC MacLaren - Going back to May 1st this year, I'm looking at my communication with a Starbucks partner. I informed him/her of the incorrect address and got in response that that is the way the address was in the "bean book" so "I'll just leave it the way it is."

I am so happy to download the new Starbucks Apps! However... Like swissbarista88, my only Starbucks card is my Duetto.

Do you have a timeline for supporting the Duetto?

I'm having the same problem that @bsgamble and others are reporting: Namely, when I try to login to the Starbucks Card app on my iPhone 3GS I get the error  "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again or come back later." I have tried about a dozen times over the past 24 hours with no luck. Entering the wrong password gives a "bad login" message as @jejmonte reported so *that's* working at least.

Looking forward to version 1.1 of this app. Hope it's ready soon!

Yet another user with the 'unexpected error has occurred' message when they're trying to log in using the app.  It makes it very frustrating when things don't work, regardless of how you try to configure them.

Is there any support available for this app?  I've been trying to login all day and get the "unexpected error" message.  I can't find any info online (except that other people are also having this problem).

It seems clear that the 2 Starbucks posters, and we do appreciate their presence, must have read about those of us having difficulty signing on ("unexpected error").  Yet, no mention.  I understand they aren't programmers, but an, "I'm sorry.  We're working on it and here's were you can go for help," would be nice.

I have both a Duetto card and a gold discount card (without a number on it), and the iPhone app won't work with either one.  I appreciate the security issues with the Duetto's visa number, so here's a suggestion.  Allow users to link a regular Starbucks card, or a gold card with a number, to the Duetto card, so that we get our rebate from Starbucks when we make a purchase, but can also use the iPhone app.  Is that feasible?

Day 3, still can't log in. Can't enter the information mannually. Could we at least get a confirmation that an error DOES exist and you're working on it? I've uninstalled/re-installed, turned phone on/off, re-booted phone... running out of ideas on my own. Love the concept, but for me it's still just a concept.

Problem solved re: error logging in. I thought about the fact that I had 3 cards registered. I only use my Gold Card and the others had zero balance. I un-registered those cards and deleted them from the library. Connected first try!

That should not be a solution.  You should be able to log into your account regardless of your cards having a zero balance.  There is no acknowledgement of the error and that's the annoying part.  At least let us know the problem is being worked on.  

I thought about that too, but I have two cards on my account that are registered to me, both with an account balance - still getting the same error. Have not gotten it to work yet. I know it's connecting because if you type in the password wrong, it will say wrong password. I wish they would resolve this issue.

Starbucks has always been an innovative company. Why not continue leading the way, and going national ( USA ), if not global, with the iPhone Starbucks card app? The demand is there. I'm already using another app that has replaced the need to carry around 10 of those keychain discount cards. I'm a Starbucks partner of 6 years, I posted a notice on the chalkboard in my store about the myStarbucks app, and had at least 10 customers download it within an hour. Their only comment was that they wish they could use the card app now, rather than waiting for the test marketing to be finished.

Let us continue to lead the way, as I know we can. Oh, and go VIA!!!

Ok - here's what I have tried. Removed all the cards. Same login error. Added gold card only. Login error. Added mini card. Login error. Changed login id and passwords to four different combinations. Login error. It has to be something with the internals of the account that's preventing the connection from continuing. My account is a portover from the Starbucks Gold account - wonder if that could be it. I am also wondering whether I should make a new Starbucks account and try again.

Duetto card members are some of the BEST Starbucks customers. We should have been included in the iPhone Mobile card app launch, not treated as second class customers.  The communications (lack thereof) adds to this feeling of being ignored as the app description should have noted that Duetto was not yet (I hope it will be very soon) supported.

This whole thing is just being handled POORLY.  You would think that a large company would test out something like this.  The whole point is for a customer who has an account to be able to login via the iPhone app to check a balance or reload the card.  And I cannot even do that.  I should not have to delete my cards, create a new account, or whatever other nonsense has been suggested.  The onus is upon the creators of the app to ensure that something even as simple and basic as logging in can occur without a hitch.  Major fail on your part  Starbucks.  You have an offer of $5.00 if we reload our cards via the app but we can't even LOG IN and my balance is close to zero  For a smaller company this could be taken more lightly but not for a large international corporation.  More communication please.   You wanted feed back?  Here it s.

I wasn't sure where to report this, but figured this would be a good start. I love the myStarbucks app, but found a couple of problems. The 10055 Meijer Dr, Rossford, OH location has closed.  Not only does it show up within the app, the green pin is in the wrong location.  The 3145 Levis Commons BLVD, Perrysburg, OH also has the green pin in the wrong location.

Whole heartily agree with boroanka.  Also having problems logging into my account.  Keep getting the same error message as several others.  There seems to be no help from Starbucks.  Tried to create a new account with the app and that works fine, now I have two accounts.  I don't want to transfer the card from my old account and can't find a way to cancel or delete the new account.  Why hasn't this problem been fixed yet?  How about answering some questions from some of your customers who seem "desperate" to use this app!  Come on guys it's called customer service.

Ok.  So I apologize for my rants.  I was just able to log in and all my cards were there!!  Great job!!  I'm off to add some money and hope I get my extra $5.00.  

So I love the iPhone apps, but have run across a few issues. One is that in my area (Portland, OR) the filter will show stores as open when they are really closed. Another is that when 1% milk is used to make a drink in the app, the nutritional info is not availalbe.

I really like the idea and can't wait to see where it goes. I am a very loyal Starbucks customer and was just saying the other day before I downloaded that app that I wished their was a tool to help locate stores with drivins etc

What about us poor folks that have BlackBerry smartphones? I get REALLY tired of everything being for I-Phones! There are a few vendors that appreciate the rest of us. What' s up with you????

Can't add card or login.  Have installed / uninstalled / restarted phone / ensured I have 6+ characters for login.

If I add new card, I get unexpected error.  If I try to login, I also get unexpected error.  The only response I can get otherwise is if I register the card via  a web browser and then try to add it via the iphone app.  In that case, it indicates the card is already registered and says I must login (which of course, I can't do for whatever reason).

would appreciate an update as to when a fix will be likely.

PLEASE make these apps available in the Canadian iTunes store!! I can't believe its not there I was so excited to go download them.

I love the fact that you've made an iphone app, but I'm a Sprint customer and Palm Pre user. So why not make an app for both phones, as well as for the Blackberry users. I would love to be able to create my order on my phone and go right in with my drink ready for me to go. Starbucks needs to think outside the box and understand that not everyone wants an iphone or will use one.

Yes, you definately need to upgrade your app to include mobile ordering.  Then the order would be correct most of the time.  Most of the time I go to a drivethru Starbucks and order they repeat back the order wrong or when they repeat it back correctly they only get one drink made when I get up there and not two as I had ordered.  A mobile ordering app would totally help with that problem.  Because I am so sick of them getting the order wrong!!!!

I participated in the trial that SBUX did about 8 years ago here in Kirkland/Bellevue/Redmond (can't believe it was that long ago!) that allowed you to set up pre defined orders on starbucks.com and then order one of these options using your phone on the way to the store.  It was an awesome concept and one that I would completely support again.  I believe that the outcome of the pilot was that there was less people then expected that signed up but the use/customer was higher then expected...I think the % of people using it now would not be an issue and really think that this is a good opportunity to reintroduce this.

How about adding a Goggle app . Just bought My touch 3 and would liek to see more apps to match I Phone.

Add this to the Canadian store too!!!

i know iphone is used everywhere and the android phones are coming up they  too should have apps for other phones for example the motorola droid just an idea and hope to see this in los angeles soon

please make this app for Android phones.  There're are much growing market for the Android phones and soon more than iPhones if not already.  Android will soon be carried at all mobile carriers.  We need this app for the Android phones please.

I hate how companies assume that everyone has an iPhone. If you're going to come out with an app, make sure that it is available on all of the main devices (iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and maybe Palm).

BLACKBERRY APP Please, with gold card compatibility! we are some of your best customers...Everyone i see in starbucks has a blackberry, every gold card member I know has a blackberry, and we've been waiting for a loong time.

I downloaded the app today and I tried to reload my card with $25 two times, but both times it said: we have encountered an error please try again. However, when I checked my bank statement it showed that $25 were pulled from my account, but the balance on my card has not changed. Very frustrated. What should I do?

Store locator function, while nice, seems redundant considering all smartphone OSs have a maps/location app installed by default.

An official Starbucks app for Android and Blackberry would be very nice.  Those mobile OSs are available on a much wider range of devices and on a wide range of carriers.
