Poll Results - What's your favorite cupcake flavor?

Cupcakes have been popular on the My Starbucks Idea website.  Some of you suggested we offer cupcakes year round.  While others have told us you miss a certain flavor.  Recently I asked the community what their favorite cupcake flavor is and here's what you said...

28% Chocolate
26% Carrot Cake
26% Red Velvet
10% White Cake
10% Yellow Cake

I'll share this information with the food team and we'll let you know what's in store for cupcakes at Starbucks.  Any other cupcake ideas?  We're listening.

Cecile, are you saying that cupcakes will soon be offered year round?

Yes to year round cupcakes.

I thought the poll was confusing. You have "white" and "yellow" but I've never seen two white-ish cupcakes at Starbucks. I've seen chocolate, red velvet, and I think a white one with yellow sprinkles on the frosting. I wasn't sure how to vote. In any case, I really like the one with white frosting with gold/yellow sprinkles. Would love to see it come back!

Now that's an idea purple1.  I would love Mocha flavored cupcakes or coffee cupcakes.  Any other ideas?

Nope -  stop. Mocha/chocolate flavor would  be really nice. Get the bakery guys working NOW :-)

And I vote NOT oversized. BUT actually smaller than typical. So that I can eat one and not feel guilty!

Cecile, I liked the size of the cupcakes that were previously offered. Please don't change that! I mentioned that the Vanilla with Gold Sprinkles was my favorite, but I also did try the Red Velvet and thought it was very good too. The chocolate was a bit overwhelmingly rich for me.  Just bring back the cupcakes, and don't change a thing!! :-)

banana chocolate chip would be delicious! Or a healthier cupcake - using whole wheat flour, etc.

i think white cupcakes would be a good idea. they are very basic and some people don't like chocolate! that way you have a basic flavor. Maybe somehow you could make them starbucks themed somehow, incorporate the logo? or produce a design that incorporates starbucks ideals?

We had a cupcake in Canada made with Maply syrup flavour and had a hard maple disk in the bottom (almost made me want to start eating the bottom first).

Where did this little gem go?  I know it's a spring thing, but can it be brought in year round?

(sorry bout the Canadian spelling...lol)

Chocoalte , vanilla and red velvet are fun....but how about a  peanut butter cup cupcake or chocolate and caramel with chopped snickers.

I recently went into to Starbucks to purchase my favourite vanilla bean cupcakes and was disappointed with the taste. What happened, these cupcakes tasted delicious in the previous year? But now the icing has an awful aftertaste.

I went into several Starbucks to make sure that it wasn't just an unusual batch that I came across and found that I was right Starbucks staff informed me that yes indeed the fabulous vanilla bean cupcake had been changed (i.e. the icing). Why change something that works?  It fact,  I recall seeing websites  in the previous year created by customers who were addicted to these scrumptious cupcakes.  That is how popular the vanilla bean cupcake apparently was.

I have never understand why companies change product just for the sake of changing.  When something works stick with it.

Wow, this years vanilla bean is just awful. Last year, 2009, I lived for the vanilla bean cupcake. It was so amazing, like heaven. Like when my 2 kids, under 3, were crying their eyes out in the back seat I could wait in the drive thru for hours for a delicious vanilla tastely morsel; but this year's are lame. I've give them a couple tries, but to no avail. The cake itself is try and trans-fattish. The once heavenly, light icing is heavy and tastes like lard.  What happened?!?!?! I waited allll year long for these little vanilla pieces of heaven the recipe is changed, why? Words can honestly not express my disappointment.  It makes me so sad, there was nothing more in life I enjoyed to eat more in 2009 than the vanilla bean starbucks cupcakes and not it's GONE-gone-gone. (sad face). regards; vanilla bean godesss 2009.

We were so excited to hear the vanilla cupcakes were back. Now I wish I could take them back. They are horrible! They are so heavy and sweet, they are almost impossible to eat. The slight tartness is gone, as well as the lightness of the frosting. Now we like NONE of the flavors. Bring back the old recipe.

I agree with the above comments about the new vanilla cupcake.  They're terrible.  Please bring back the original or PUBLISH THE RECIPE (or vendor so we can purchase from them!)  You couldn't keep them in stock, so why would you quit selling them?  If not being able to keep them in stock was the problem and the responsibility lies on the vendor, tell us who the vendor is and we'll work with them. :-)  I would LOVE to give them my money- but I will never pay another cent for that disgusting vanilla cupcake you're trying to sell us now.  Valentine's is coming up and I'm anxiously awaiting the return of the original cupcake.
