3 Holiday Beverages + One More on the Way!

Hi everyone.  My name is Tara, and I’m the product manager on the espresso team leading the Starbucks holiday beverage promotion this year.  I’m personally thrilled to announce the return of red cups, holiday sleeves, and our three holiday classic beverages to participating stores in the U.S. on November 3.  Better yet, I’m excited to inform you that on November 17, we will launch a new holiday espresso drink that you’re going to love.  It’s sweet, creamy, and delicious in all forms (hot, iced, or blended in the form of a Frappuccino® blended beverage).  I can’t tell you much more than that right now, but I can assure you that this beverage is going to surprise and delight you this holiday season.  In any case, let me get back to the classic treats you already know and love.

  1. Peppermint Mocha:  This holiday classic is a favorite for a lot of you.  It’s versatile and available hot, iced, and blended. For kids, it’s a great treat as Peppermint Hot Chocolate.  Or, for the more indulgent treat, try it with White Chocolate.  For the holiday season, we make Peppermint Mocha extra special by topping it with our delicious dark chocolate curls.
  2. Gingerbread Latte:  This marks the 10th year of the Gingerbread Latte at Starbucks.  We heard your feedback last year and have returned to our classic topping - ground nutmeg.  Enjoy this classic and try it without coffee as a Gingerbread Crème.
  3. Eggnog Latte:  Believe it or not, Starbucks has been serving Eggnog Latte for 24 years!  This is our longest running holiday favorite and we haven’t changed a thing.  Enjoy!

I’m looking forward to sharing holiday moments with my friends and family this year.  And, there’s no better way to treat them than to share holiday espresso beverages from Starbucks.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.  I’ll look forward to hearing your feedback on this year’s lineup.  What’s your favorite holiday beverage?

Tara

Why can't you tell us?

It's the Crème Brule Latte and it's already available in Canada.

Thanks Starbucks for shafting the U.S.

Tara, does Starbucks have any plans to release Skinny versions of the holiday drinks? Around that time of year I know many people can't afford a high-caloric latte!

Thank you :)

It seems that every country has a different set of Christmas drinks :) Where I'm at, it's Peppermint mocha, Toffee Nut, Dark Cherry Mocha :)

Would love to try Eggnog and Gingerbread Latte :) Also the Pumpkin Spice latte. Any chance those will end up here in Manila sometime?

Shelim - Where are you at that you have a Starbucks Dark Cherry Mocha? You must be overseas (outside of the US) I think.  ??

Anyway, I'm actually mostly just a brewed coffee drinker, and I drink very few lattes. I will try the new one because I usually try new things (though I swear to god I saw Chantico on the menu over and over again and never once tried it).

The one holiday drink I look forward to from Starbucks is Pumpkin Spice. A Pumpkin Spice latte now and then IS delightful.

Why won't you give us any info about the beloved SALTED CARAMEL HOT CHOCOLATE?!  Just bring it back like so many of us have been asking for...PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE

Looks like an earlier comment I made got eaten.  Are these three drinks syrups?   I ask because Pumpkin Spice seemed to be (in the one time I tried it)  a not-too-sweet sprinking of something on a plain latte.  Not what I expected at all.   I expect something sweet with the named taste included.  Look forward to gingerbread!

I tried the caramel brulee latte this weekend; and I'm sad to say it's terribly disappointing.

This one won't be back next year.  Trust me.  Just try a free sample and don't bother wasting your money.

I, too, knew of the 'secret' caramel brulee latte' about 3wks ago?  maybe a month.  I know lots and lots of people would love to see the salted caramel hot chocolate return.....it's my understanding they (stores) only need the salt.  It seems like that would be an easy one to satisfy.  I had it a couple times...very good for  a rare occasion (for me), need a short BOLD with it.  But what about just giving that back since it only requires giving the stores the SALT, which does not even have a short shelf life???   just an "idea".   (I think at this point, the more happiness you can throw out there, the better ;)

to Melody: the Chantico was a hit with a small number of people who were really die hard chocolate freaks!  One of my best friends LOVED it, would drink all they would give her....   but, you really have to be a pure choc. addict.   (I think)  I also remember thinking: they introduced it too late in the winter here (Chicago)...... needed to be thru-out the coldest season.  I'm sure that will never some back.  And, as usual, I still just want real (NOT PPR) coffee choice all day.  seems so simple.....      forget brulee..... bla bla bla.

@gmommy - We are not offering the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate this year.  I similar drink would be to add toffee nut syrup to the signature hot chocolate and top with caramel sauce.  I've shared your idea with the beverage team.  If this idea gets enough votes, perhaps it will come back as a future menu item.

@betterbefore - Sorry about the "anonymous" username.  The comment session seems to time out after awhile and the user name then defaults to "anonymous".  I've shared this glitch with our IT team.

How many votes would it take to bring back the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate?  The three Starbucks around me have been trying different variations but it's just not the same.  Please bring it back.  We certainly can start a petition ;)

Check out this website a Starbucks Partner shared on the partner MSI site: www.RedCupDay.com.  Share your picture with your Starbucks Holiday Beverage.  Cool!

I was a Starbucks Partner until recently (I left after 4 years to try my hand at selling cars) and this is what I did to recreate Salted Caramel Signature Hot Chocolate.

1. Add Toffee Nut Syrup to the steamed Signature as before.

2. Top with Whipped Cream, Raw Sugar, and the packets of table salt that you should have at your store if it is a warming store serving sandwiches. The old salt was a mixture of raw sugar and sea salt. This does pretty much the same thing.

3. Top with caramel sauce. I drank the real thing every day, and I honestly can't tell the difference.

Bring back the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate AND the crystallized ginger for the gingerbread latte!!  That ginger at the bottom of the cup was the BEST part... I've been waiting for it all year! =(

I'm glad to know there is another "Anonymous" out there than just me!

I too can hardly wait to try out your new caramel brulee drink before the 10% discount goes away.
