Hi everyone, this is Holly from the Music team. I’ve had the pleasure to work on the “Love CD” that you may have already picked up at your local Starbucks this holiday season (if not, learn more about it here). This love CD is brought to you by Starbucks and (RED)™ as a gift with purchase of $15 or more at participating Starbucks. I’m writing to you today to share the significance behind one of the songs on the Love CD, and then invite you to join us for an amazing event on Monday that stems from that one song.
In 1967, John Lennon wrote a song to convey a simple message of love to people around the world.
The song was performed by the Beatles on the first live global television link in 1967 as people from 26 countries tuned in to watch.
Now, more than 40 years later, I invite you to join us as the world gathers once more around this song. For a moment in time on Monday, December 7, we will stream live video from around the world of people singing “All You Need is Love” at the same time. After you watch the live video, we invite you to add your voice to the song. You can upload your own video rendition of “All You Need is Love” and share it with your friends and family.
The live event starts at 8:30 a.m. EST on Monday. Please visit the Starbucks Love Project site to see the world come together.
