How we are Working toward Overcoming Recycling Barriers
Today, we are very excited to have our very own, Jim Hanna – director of Environmental Impact – speak at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington D.C. Jim will present some of our challenges and achievements around recycling and will ask mayors and other municipal leaders across the United States to improve local recycling systems. Currently, recycling capabilities vary across the U.S. and this presents a significant barrier for Starbucks as we work to address our goal of being an environmental leader and one of the top ideas of all time on MyStarbucksIdea – Recycling . Happy New Year!
It’s hard to believe 2010 is here! While we’re excited for the year ahead we wanted to look back at our progress since we launched My Starbucks Idea in the spring of 2008. Participation at this site has been tremendous. So far, we’ve received over 88,000 ideas and overall participation is strong with exceptional voting, commenting, and moderator participation. Site Down Tonight
Starting at 8:00 pm PST tonight the My Starbucks Idea site will be down for scheduled maintenence and enhancements. I think you'll really like some of the changes we are making! Donate to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Effort at Participating Starbucks Stores
Hello, My name is Rodney Hines. I work on the Starbucks Global Responsibility team focusing on community efforts. This week a tragic event happened to our world neighbors in Haiti. Many lives have been lost and massive wreckage realized by the earthquake. Many of you have let us know that you would like to help. New Store in Mayfair, London
This winter, the Starbucks design team unveiled a new store in the hip and fashionable district of Mayfair, the heart of London. This new design not only embeds the character of the neighborhood into the store, but also elevates the look-and-feel of the traditional coffeehouse. There are many interesting features to this new store- it showcases our heritage logo, and features a large industrial community table found at an antique store in Belgium. There is artwork made from reused tea boxes once used to store legal papers in the Northwest of England. Welcome... to the new My Starbucks Idea. We've made some design changes and added a few new features. Some new things to look out for include: Profiles - make sure you fill out your profile, so your fellow MSI users can learn more about you. Badges - some of you may have an icon next to your name because you're a top commenter or you may have had one of your ideas launched. Question of the Day - now shows real time results.
