One Person Can Save Trees. Together, We Can Save Forests.

Trees are the lungs of our planet.  They produce the oxygen we need to breathe.  I’d say that’s pretty important.   In addition to providing the clean air we breathe, trees are a windbreak on a mountain hike, a home insulator, a natural play structure for children (and adults) and a way to make your neighborhood more beautiful.  Trees matter.

At the root of all positive change is the idea that it could occur.  Believing good things will happen causes us to fully engage in the process of making life better.  We have the opportunity to come together as a global community and shape a better world.

Join the global movement on April 15.  Bring in a reusable mug to a participating Starbucks and get a free cup* of brewed coffee.  As an organization, we have a goal that 100% of our cups will be reusable or recyclable by 2015.  This is one way we are using our size for good to help reduce waste and thank you for doing your part.

This one day alone will not create a better world but can be the start of a movement that will improve our world.  It will take effort.   It will be worth it.  To thank you for your daily extra efforts and care, every time you use a reusable mug in our participating stores, we’ll give you 10 cents off the price of your beverage.  It’s a nudge.  It’s gratitude.  It’s karma.  It’s important.

Visit www.starbucks.com/thebigpicture  to see a video of thousands of people taking a personal pledge to hand in their paper cup in exchange for a reusable mug.  We can make life better together - go to the site and take the pledge.

I'll be there!  Is there  a way to make a reusable plastic tumbler that is microwavable? I use ceramic mugs at home that I can reheat in the microwave if necessary, but the plastic tumblers that I use on-the-go have to be re-poured into another cup to reheat.  I would definitely use a reusable cup more often if I could reheat it.

Great idea if the stores knew about it. Today is tuesday and this morning my local SB was clueless as to the promotion. Communication does not seem effective.

I am still amazed as to the fact that my local SB today on Wed still has no clue about tomorrow's promotion. SB when are you going to let all the stores know? On Friday? Also, Cecile how did you decide who got the gift of a tumbler?

Hi purple1 - I sent tumblers to the customers on the MSI leaderboard.  You can bring any reusable mug in on Thursday for a free brewed coffee.  Visit www.starbucks.com/thebigpicture to take the pledge.

I have a few starbucks mugs, but none of them are microwavable.  I notice Starbucks sells the clear reusable starbucks cups for cold drinks in the summer.  How about reusuable cups that looks like the cups Starbucks uses for the hot drinks?
