Starbucks Keeps up with your Social & Mobile Lifestyle!

We are excited to announce two new ways to manage your Starbucks Cards, and track your progress in the My Starbucks Rewards program.  Since we're all attached to our mobile devices, smart phones, laptops or iPads , we thought we’d make it easier for you to stay connected to Starbucks.
Through Facebook and the Starbucks Card Mobile application for the iPhone® and iPod Touch you can do all the same things you can do at Starbucks.com – check your balance, reload, track your Stars and register new cards!  Here’s how to get started:

Facebook
You have made us the number 1 fan page on Facebook, so now Starbucks has made it easier for you to check your balance, reload your cards, register new cards, and track your progress in My Starbucks Rewards!!
From the Starbucks page you can bookmark the new Starbucks Card page.  You’ll be able to create a new Starbucks account, or sign into your existing account.  From there, registering a new card, reloading your cards and tracking your Stars are all just a click away!

Your ideas have also inspired giving the gift of Starbucks® coffee through Facebook!  This is on the horizon – stay tuned!!

Starbucks Card Mobile
You asked for it, and we heard you!  Being able to track your progress in the My Starbucks Rewards program through the Starbucks Card Mobile application was one of the most requested new features.
By downloading the newest Starbucks Mobile app version (v 1.3), you will have a new tab added to your current app experience – My Rewards.

You will be delighted with a fun visual representation of falling Stars into your My Starbucks Rewards cup, and a helpful note on how many more Stars you need to reach the next level, or your next Free Drink reward!  At the Gold level earn a Free Drink with 15 Stars and watch for the surprise message!

The info button in the top right corner of the Star cup screen gives you a quick overview of benefits available at each level of the program.  Welcome, Green and Gold.

My Starbucks Rewards customers who have already downloaded the new app have this to say:

Here’s what’s coming
We’ve heard that you’d like to be able to track your progress in the My Starbucks Rewards program every time you visit the store.  We’re happy to let you know this request has been heard - look forward to seeing your stars on your receipt soon.

Remember – it can take up to 24 hours for your Stars to catch up to you!!

I wish Starbucks would join the rest of us in 2010 and develop WEBAPPS that are non-device specific.

I want to check my card balance on my non-iPhone mobile device (I got several).

Why not create a good webapp that can be used BY ALL devices on the go?

You could even use useragents on it to detect what device is connecting if you want to optimize for that.

Downloading apps that are device specific is so last year.

We really hope you'll take advantage of the two new great ways to stay in touch with Starbucks.

Make sure you use your registered Starbucks card on every visit so you can receive our offers and surprise treats!!

Thanks! sbux_nat

I'd love to see the two Starbucks iPhone apps combined. Do appreciate being able to check my rewards status on the iPhone!. Only thing missings: I can't make the cup with stars "shake" like I can online and it doesn't tell me how many free drinks I've earned.

now we just need to see the mystarbucksidea.com and starbucksstore.com features accessible through the iPhone apps.

@phoneboy - Combining the apps is an idea we've seen on MSI.  The team is looking at that idea.

I agree, it would be cool if the stars "shake" on the iPhone.

@tobias fornell - MSI on the iPhone would be cool.  If we could make a lighter MSI experience for the iPhone - what features would you like to see?

I post this every time you announce another Apple specific app. There is this thing called a Blackberry that came out a while back and lots of folks like it! How about including us in your efforts. I know Apple is cool and Blackberry may not be. But honest I love mine and will never switch off the crackberry. So until you open up past Apple you loose all us folks that use Blackberry, Droid, Microsoft platforms for mobile.....my wife loves the Droid platform via the HTC phones...

Privacy is such a hot topic these days, so it made me stop and not go forward when I wanted to get the Facebook application.  I had to "accept" the following message before getting the app: "Access my public information.  Includes name, profile picture, list of friends, and all other public parts of my profile."  Seriously??  What is Starbucks planning to do with all of my public info??  Without telling me what Starbucks plans to do, I stopped and went no further.  Why not make the app available without grabbing all my info off of Facebook?

Why is the App not available in Canada?  When will it be available in Canada?
