Starbucks Voted Best Coffee Again This Year!

Thanks to you Starbucks is recognized as the #1 Best Coffee and #1 Quick Refreshment Chain in the 2010 Zagat Survey® of National Chain Restaurants.  We’re honored that you have again selected Starbucks as the best coffee in the U.S.  We take pride in offering coffees from around the world that reflect both their unique characteristics and our commitment to seeking out the best coffee beans, and we want to thank you, our coffee buyers, coffee roasters, and baristas who all had a hand in making us the favorite coffee that we are today.

Last year you told us it is not just the quality coffee that makes us number one, but the store experience and the baristas.  We would love to hear your stories about your favorite Starbucks® coffee experiences.  Please chime in and continue to share your ideas with us on My Starbucks Idea.

Congratulations!  I always look for the Starbucks name when I travel.  It's so nice to know what to expect when I enter a coffee shop - a welcoming atmosphere, peaceful, calm and good coffee, too.

I cannot say enough about Starbucks.  I have loved it for so long I don't remember how old I was when I had my first cup.  I like a variety of drinks that you offer, as does my husband.

The only complaint I have is that around where I live they built a new Barnes and Noble and of coutse you are a small part of the store.  I have went in now and ordered a venti dark mocha skim milk and whipped cream, I am there often and each time I go they continue to make it a dark mocha cherry one.  Everytime I have to wait while it is made over and people are waiting and the barista is rude.  She has insisted every time "come on, you wanted cherry right" and she will ask several times.  If I had wanted cherry I would have said it.  Then I get treated as if I am lying.  I love you coffee and want to keep getting it, but I don't want to if I am treated like that.  Sincerely,

Brandy

I wouldn't know where to drink my coffee if there wasn't a Starbucks.  I only use Starbucks House Blend decaf, espresso ground at home and My Barrista espresso/cappuccino machine has been working better than any espresso machine I have ever purchased, even the ones from Italy.  I will forever be loyal to my favorite coffee shop.  Also, the snacks, food, and accessories are the best.

Keep up the good work.  E-mail coupons so that I can bring friends to try your specialties.

Kuddos to your staff...they make my visit to any location enjoyable :))

I love Starbucks, BUT you don't serve your bold label long enough during the day.  I like coming in around 3 or 4 for a cup.  Those one servings that you make by special request aren't that good and some baristas don't know how to make it so it comes out either too watery or too strong.  Bring the bold back in the afternoon and I'll be VERY happy.

Starbucks Coffee is one of my favorite things in life.

I love the Long Beach Crew on 7th and Park. They make me smile everyday.

I wish Starbucks would come back with a Gold card program where patriots could get 10% off all my purchase of Coffee, Mugs, Food and other products.

The Starbucks crew can bring a smile to my face almost every time I visit.

I ALSO TRAVEL ALOT FOR BUSINESS & PLEASURE, AND I ALWAYS LOOK FOR STARBUCKS ......SOMETIMES EVEN USING MY GPS. WHEN I'M HOME I EVEN BREW STARBUCKS FRENCH ROAST. I LOVE LOVE LOVE STARBUCKS COFFEE DRINKS. BUT THE PASTRIES ARE ANOTHER SUBJECT. VERY SELDOM DO I ORDER A PASTRY. STARBUCKS NEEDS LOCAL FRESH PASTRY SUPPLIERS. MAYBE EVEN THINGS "KNOWN FOR" IN THAT REGION OF THE COUNTRY. NOT SOMETHING FLOWN IN FROM TEXAS OR WHERE EVER ........HOW "GREEN" IS SHIPPING PASTRIES FROM GOD KNOW S WHERE, AND STARBUCKS IS A BIG PROMOTER OF "GREEN". THEY LOOK GOOD, BUT BOY! WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT. I GIVE STARBUCKS AN A+ FOR THIER COFFEE, BUT A GRADE "C" FOR THOSE THINGS IN THE GLASS CASE! WISH SOMEONE WOULD LISTEN!!!

Starbucks is the best, I have been a starbucks customer for 7 years and its by far the best enjoyment i get. The employees are the best!! I know when i have a bad day that they are there and my drink is made with perfection everytime. they know my when I need some cheering up i can count on my favorite starbucks crew. I honestly dont know what i would do if starbucks decided to close. i know i know its sound cheesy but believe me i have alot of things in my life that had made my life sad and its spending 5.00 a day for coffee is worth the joy and smiles this company brings to me!!!! Christina Charlottesville, VA and to my Pantops all star crew!!!

Voted as best coffee? Well, we visit our local Starbucks (daily) based on the great team that you have there. If that team wouldn't be there, ...

La Crescenta, CA, 91214, 3747 Foothill BLV

I think you should send out a big sorry, to have forgotten who makes you #1, it's the people who support us every day, and who smiles -even when we have special orders, like tons of foam on some shots.

Thank you!

Ok, so you were voted best coffee... I agree. I think you do have the best coffee and I love the distinct taste Starbucks coffee has.  Now can I have my old frappachino back? I don't care what your executives, marketing people, etc., say. The new frappachino is really, really bad. I have tried it several ways and I still can not drink it. Please check your blogs.... I think you will find alot of people complaining about the same thing. You say I can have it made my way? No I can't, you don't make it my way anymore. The good thing is I am saving money by not coming in everyday. Do you remember "New Coke"?

Everywhere I go I find the nearest Starbucks.  That green sign is  the bright spot where ever I go.

I love the Tifton, Ga Starbucks Crew!  They are absolutely the best!  In Tifton, "The Buck" is the place to be.  Even when they are swamped, (which is often), they are always cheerful.    Even at 6:00AM they are bright and cheerful.

Congrats!!! I love my Starbucks locally and when traveling. Whether using the drive-thru or taking time to go inside for a relaxing visit, Starbucks is an important part of my lifestyle. It's great to have the many options and the Soy drinks as well. Thanks for the new Via products and also for the Summer Treat Retreat Promo. The only thing that would make the promo better would be to allow customers to purchase a cold drink after 2pm and then get a $2 hot beverage the next morning. Just a thought.

Thanks again for a great place and for hiring great teams!

Congratulations!  It's good to know that many people share my opinion of Starbucks.  Can't pass a store without stopping for a drink.  Can't say what  is my favorite.  They are all great.  My favorite is the one I buy at that time.  Sometimes it's hard to decide which I want the most.  I try all the seasonal ones and wish they were available longer.

While traveling I use my GPS to look up the nearest Starbucks -Wow wonderful. First time I tried it we were going through Texas and the town we were in had one and I screamed "A Starbucks is here " so detoured in our RV and relaxed with our Iced Latte and bought two more to go.

I used to be a twice-a-day Starbucks regular but now only visit once a week or so.  The Zagat survey is great but I wouldn't let it go to your heads.  As Starbucks has become more "popular" the quality of their product has definitely gone down to be more marketable and cost-effective.  And at the same time, overstressed staff have pushed "Quality of service" down to the barely-tollerable level.  I know of many, smaller local establishments that could never win a national survey but serve much better coffee & espresso than the current Starbucks offerings and are still able to greet their customers with a genuine smile.  It's unfortunate that I and a lot of other true coffee lovers have now begun to view Starbucks as little more than the McDonalds of coffee chains.

Well done.

Our entire family loves Starbucks.  Our youngest was on a Fulbright in Japan, the Starbucks in Tokyo was outstanding.  "Winter" in PB, FL (33480); this location is very special.  Wish that you could put a place in Hamilton, Bermuda.

Not surprised by the award of best coffee.  Its well earned.  The stores themselves are a big draw; so inviting.  Also, the food items availabe are also a draw, but the big one for me are the sugar free caramel non-fat frappachinos!  Venti of course!

Congrats!  Well deserved....Starbucks is the best!  It's a daily routine for me but I vacation in Aruba a few times a year (my home away from home) and for years I was lost without a Starbucks.  At last, they finally put up a Starbucks in Aruba (not to complain, but it's downtown....not on Palm Beach...PLEASE, PLEASE put one up there too!!).  Thanks for the great coffee, baristas and atmosphere!

I love the ENTIRE "Starbucks experience" except for one, major detail . . . the door decals state that Starbucks is a "smoke free environment" yet that is not so! Smoking seems to be allowed, or at least tolerated in their outdoor seating areas, which totally ruins the experience for me and many others I know. Walking thru the smoke cloud is enough to gag a maggot, but what really urks me is when the baristas stand outside and puff. They at least should be restricted to smoking behind the buildings, and in no location where their smoke can drift into the customers' space!!!

It's not only that Starbucks has the best coffee, which it does, but its the wonderful customer service.  It's so refreshing to go in every morning where they know my name and remember my drink.  I actually frequent 3 different Starbucks in Chicago but the one at 200 W Madison is the best in the city.  The staff is incredible and speedy, even when there is a long line.  A store is only as good as its  staff and obviously Starbucks has the best staff who focus on customer service.  I am a life long fan!!!

And don't forget about those after work (after 2:00) treats. I love starbucks. It has taken me over 60 years to find a real coffee that I really love. Keep up with the good stuff.

Starbucks coffee is, without a doubt, the best around -- with the exception of Pikes Place.  I still maintain that Pikes is just awful.  That's the only thing that taints the Starbucks product and experience for me.

If that is all you are offering when I drop by, I just walk out.

8/16/2010 10:28 AM

Our local Starbucks always makes the perfect drinks, the baristas know everyone by name and what their usual drink they order.  When I go through the drive through they not only ask about my family but also know my dog by name.  Needless to say if I announce "Going to get coffee" in my house my dog beats me to the door ready to go.  What a great group working in Mount Pleasant, SC.

8/16/2010 10:28 AM

Certainly not for your Pikes Peak roast. My least favorite. You have so many great coffees. Why make this one your primary offering? I come to Starbucks in the afternoons for a cup of black coffee and have to settle for this inferior brew. Better off staying home and brewing my own Starbucks bold roasts.

I agree with the Pikes Peak haters. That coffee, to me, is very bitter and on the lower end of the other wonderful coffees at Starbucks. I also want to give a shout out to the great crew at the Hales Corners Starbucks on Hwy 100 near Forest Home. They really know their customers and always show welcome friendly faces.

I do enjoy Starbucks. At the store close to me it is always too crowded to really sit and enjoy because of the numereous laptop users who take up too much spave for such a small shop.

I use to enjoy taking my laptop from work and going into the localk starbucks and working while I enjoyed whateever I purchased.

Over time it got to be that too many laptoop users took up space and did not appear to be spending much money nor really working. Just goofing off and looking around.

Then, The isssue of paying for acces to wi-fi was unacceptable. In this day and age it is a cost that very minor and should be used to attract laptop users that spend money and do not just take up space for hours at a time while not purchasing enough product to be economically reasonable.

Maybe thier should be a limit on how much time a sinlge person can take up table meant for 4 or more people.

Do to the above reasons I have severely curtailed ny puchases so due to the inability to find a table at even a reasobale time of day.

Congrats!!!

I love Starbucks and I have been drinking for at least 16 years now and will not go anywhere else.  As I have tried the rest and don't care for them and never been back.

My husband knows how much I drink it which is almost everyday and he'll even make the comment "Um don't you have to go to Starbucks as you have have too much blood in your Starbucks system."

I just wish Starbucks would do alittle more promos like after buying so many drinks the XX amount is free or since they were voted #1 coffee how about thanking the people who did the voting and either give them a thing for a free coffee or a day of free coffee or something.

I love my Starbuck's family in East Lancaster, PA.  The coffee is great, but it is the staff that makes it the best.  I am always greeted by name or nickname. They know my favorite coffee drinks.  They ask me how I am doing and engage me in conversation related to my interests.  I tell them that it is not just the product; it's the people that draw me to Starbucks.

I  like Verona coffee the best with Sumatra a close second.  I agree that Pike Place coffee is probably my least favorite blend.  I would not use it as my "house" coffee.

Starbucks continues to revive my faith in people. Your employees always have a sunny smile and disposition with only rare exception, and anyone can have a bad day. I don't know how you do it, but keep hiring the best folks on the planet.

The employees are the second thing to greet the customers (first being the aroma of your coffee), and pretty much the first human interaction to help me through my day. I try to enjoy that as long as I can, as I know that sadly it'll be worse the rest of the day... any other business I go to will not have the same attitude and zest for a good day.

My only complaint as it is... Pike Place everyday? Nothing wrong with any of your blends, and I am appreciative of cost effective efforts as well as maintaining some consistency for non-espresso coffee drinkers, but I would love it if you could vary from time to time.

That's all, keep up the great work in your stores, with your employees and customers, and with your human efforts as well.

Starbucks rocks!

Not surprised #1, yummy! Even if I have a Starubuck's, Grande java Frappe, soy, black eye next to me in the car (yes, you made me do it) and see another Starbuck's I salivate. Take another sip and wonder: Why did I choose this time to get a grande and not venti?

How could they take the Starbuck's off the Florida Tpke? My late hubby and I always made our stops based on if there was a Starbuck's or not. They aer sorely missed.

Our five adult kids, got through college with the aid of your java.

The funniest thing was when I would give each of the kids a Starbuck's card as one of their Hanukkah gifts (8 evenings - different gifts)... After using up the $50. card, they would come back and say, "It's ready to be refilled." Like a cup of Starbuck's? ; ))

In my eyes, there is no better & for that I thank you.

I really like your company and how you are rejuvenating yourself. You had started drifting away from what made you strong...excellent coffee and excellent staff. Now I am glad you are closing locations to make sure you have quality at every last one of them.

Being a coffee roaster myself, I also what you have done for specialty coffee. More people know how a proper cup should 'feel' like in their mouth and have started to taste more nuances in the coffee.

Hats off to you and best of luck on your journey back to the way Starbucks was and will be going forward! :)

I am a total Starbucks junkie... I purchased the Delonghi espresso maker thinking.... Oh, I will save money and make my own... needless to say, I am still making my daily runs (sometimes 2) and I am a total sucker for the "drink receipt" as if I needed another excuse to stroll into my safe haven.

8/16/2010 10:51 AM

Well, you must not have asked me to vote, because I am pretty disappointed with Starbucks right now.  I WAS a long time DAILY Frappuccino drinker, but I haven't been back since you started the "new and improved" Frap.  As someone who LOVED my drink and never changed it (rain or shine....it could have been 30 degrees outside and I would drink it), I think your new version is horrible.

Why change a good thing?

I understand that maybe you were trying to appeal to a different kind of coffee drinker, but that is when you make something new, not change what was already a staple of your menu.

Just my 2 cents.

I am surprised to read that you have been going to Starbucks for 16 years & you do not have a Starbucks GOLD CARD - ask your Baristas the next time you are there.  You collect stars on your card after every purchase & then after 15 stars you receive a free drink (any size, prepared anyway)...very cool !!

Great coffee, but even better service, always with a smile. I love when I walk through the door and my coffee is being called out before I reach the counter. On some days they know when an extra espresso shot is just what I need...that's service.

Been drinking Starbucks since you opened in Seattle! LOVE IT! Also appreciate the things you've added over the years, from the Starbucks cards, to breakfast treats, the lunch sandwiches, to the Via! ( for when I'm outta coffee or camping!).

I can get my morning coffee, breakfast and lunch all at one time and I'm set for the day for about $10 bucks!

THANKS for a great cup o joe! Y'all make my day almost every day!

Starbucks, makes my day!  I visit two stores, one if I am late in the morning, but the other store to get my special greetings from the staff.  Always busy but never too busy to notice me standing there.  That is the whole key, I am not just a customer but a welcomed guest.

The coffee is awesome, but the baristas do make it better.

Many thanks & props to the team over at 6th & Waverly in Greenwich Village NYC.  They are the reason I show up at least twice a day.....and I don't even live in NYC.

I hate to say this, but there is NOTHING I don't like about STARBUCKS. It is my magical place. I love all the products. I luv the folks that work there. I am their number one fan.

I can't get enough. I use them all over the country.

Thank you Starbucks for your wonderment. I just luv you guys.

Congrats, you are the BEST!

My wife and I do a lot of walking in the morning.  We always make a stop about half way through the walk at a Startbucks.  I can't imagine doing my walk without a grande cup of Pike Place to look forward to.

I live in Lakewood, Ca. I would like to give a great big starbucks yell for the employees at the store at Woodruff and South as everytime i go in they know my name and my drink and food, doesnt matter what day or time. Liz and her co-workers are very friendly and take the time to greet and know their customers. They need to know that they are appreciated by their customers for all their hard work.

Since My memory is fading on a daily basis.

Would it be possible for your employees to wear name tags?

Congratulations Starbucks!!!  I enjoy my Starbucks in Snellville, the baristas are wonderful.  I also like the new "snacks" that you are offering.  The comment about fresh local pastries is a good idea, also, bring in Light Soy Milk to go along with your "Skinny" drinks, for those who don't drink milk.  Thanks for "treating" me for so long!
