Starbucks Voted Best Coffee Again This Year!

Thanks to you Starbucks is recognized as the #1 Best Coffee and #1 Quick Refreshment Chain in the 2010 Zagat Survey® of National Chain Restaurants.  We’re honored that you have again selected Starbucks as the best coffee in the U.S.  We take pride in offering coffees from around the world that reflect both their unique characteristics and our commitment to seeking out the best coffee beans, and we want to thank you, our coffee buyers, coffee roasters, and baristas who all had a hand in making us the favorite coffee that we are today.

Last year you told us it is not just the quality coffee that makes us number one, but the store experience and the baristas.  We would love to hear your stories about your favorite Starbucks® coffee experiences.  Please chime in and continue to share your ideas with us on My Starbucks Idea.

Congrats again!  Starbucks has always been my favorite because I can expect and I receive a high quality, consistant mocha where ever I go in the world.  The food chains can't always say that.  I've gone to Starbucks in Mexico, Canada, Germany, UK, China, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong, and they're all excellent.  Thanks, Starbucks, for being where I need you when I need you!

I love the ambiance of Starbucks, but honestly do not like the coffee.  It is so strong that it tastes bitter.  I wish Starbucks offered a milder coffee.  Pikes is not the answer.

I hope Starbucks stays here in Twin Falls, Id. for a very long time

I don't fluff my coffee - I appreciate that Starbuck's is still just a good cup of coffee when I want it...or need it! But I wouldn't ever come back if your barista's and staff weren't enjoying themselves and providing great customer service!

What's now to love about Starbucks?  After purchasing several drinks, I get a postcard for a free drink!  I love it and it's my only vice.  Also, I probably visit about 5 different Starbucks, but there are 2 in the Pearlridge Mall where the staff are super friendly  and always make me feel welcome.

I would really love to see Starbucks lead the pack and start a recycling program. It really works in San Francisco (where it is mandated by city law). I hate to see all those empty cups being thrown in the garbage instead of being recycled. You have the best coffee and the best staff...so lead the way!

kenny449
8/16/2010 5:40 PM

It's not the best. It's more like the only coffee you can find most places.

I'd  like to return to the days when I could get SBC or torafaziono (sp?) but SBX bought them out and changed their roasts so it's the same over roasted mess that starbucks is.

I was one of the folks that actually got to visit the original store and enjoy a good cup of espresso in 1979 when visiting Seattle before I moved here a few years later.

Charbucks is more in keeping with the quality.

Lived in Seattle in the 80's & visited your original roasting/tasting location down by the railroad tracks and my husband and I have been hooked ever since.  Now live on the East Coast - closest Starbucks in 1 1/2 hours away and has only been there for 2 years.  Had beans fedEx'd in for several years every couple of weeks - had to have those fresh roasted, oily beans.  Still use a French press, just the way we were shown to 30 years ago.  Keep up the good work.  It's really all about the bean and the roasting - and you do it the best!  Don't forget your roots.  thanks.

Congratulations Starbucks is the best BUT

I agree with Shroom. Pikes sucks. I call it Maxwell house. NOT good to the last drop. If thats all they have when I go in and they refuse to make anything else I leave. Sorry :o( I love everything else including the wonderful friendly staff at almost any Starbucks I have walked into

I love Starbuck's, especially an iced coffee in the summer and a latte in the winter.  I love when you're out of town and see a Starbuck's you know you'll get a good cup of coffee.  Also, the bathrooms are always clean!

I have been a fan of starbucks since 2002.  It just keeps getting better!  And now that they do the fraps with soy, I am a hopeless romantic!  The Starbucks on Manhattan in Harvey, LA is the BEST I have come across.  I can stay there for hours and the drinks are aways perfect! I love that the one barista always treats my daughter like the little diva that she is.  My visits are always enjoyable!!

Congratulations Starbucks!!!!! You are the 1st stop on my morning commute to work. The drive is just not the same without ya. The biggest decision is not what to drink (same thing all the time) but to choose whether I get out and walk in or go through the drive through. The service is amazing in the morning, the amazing staff knows exactly what to say.....I always need the "add shot" and I get it. Thanks for being in the right place at the right time, with a smile on your face....Hot or Cold...makes no never mind, it is ALWAYS AMAZING!!!!!!

I have always been the Starbucks fan.

But, as a Coffee lover that I am, I had to try all the rest of coffee shops out there. To be completely unbiased, I even tried them several times, even if I immediately didn't like that place the first time.

But, at the end, nobody came even close to beat Starbucks.

The price hike is not a fun part of my wallet, but you are doing a lot of promotion to justify that.

Please keep up the great job and great coffee!

I love Starbuck's in the morning...it would be great to not be limited to only Pike's Place in the afternoon/evening...it does save lots of $$$ on my coffee account.  Also perhaps a quick lane for coffee only drinkers.

I like stopping on my way to work for a coffee, however the location at 68th  and Meeker in Kent, Washington seems to not know how to serve a Venti.  Everytime, lately, I stop and ask for a Venti, I end up getting a Grande and have to correct them and hold the Drive Thru line up with other customers, I am sure, that need to get to work like I do.  I think it's something to get it wrong especially when they repeat my order before I go to pick up my drink.

Starbucks is the best!  They tailor my drinks to my specific health needs.  I am type 2 diabetic and I can enjoy the drinks with less carbs.  No one else does that!  Hot and cold it is the best.  Can't wait to get pumpkin spice back this fall.  Why can't they have it all year long?  It's my favorite along with the pumpkin bread.

I love the staff at the Sbux in Raleigh at North Hills, they are hands down the best in the triangle! My favorite drink is anything passion tea, and one of the baristas knows me pretty well and when I walk in says 'hey, ready for your kool aid!' and that is just great service and gives me a great feeling! Keep it up!

Congratulations Starbucks!  The best coffee in the world, coffee from around the world.  My favorite memory was in Seattle.  We were in Seattle for a Sleep Convention, the Starbucks at the hotel was the greatest.  That's when I became a coffeeholic!  Now back to Louisiana, and we finally have one in my town.  Yeah!!! I buy beans, not ground.  Thanks Starbucks, keep doing what you're doing.

CONGRATULATIONS, Starbuck's on being voted #1 again in Zagats -- its so DESERVED!

BTW:  I could retch when I hear/read about "blind" taste tests where McDonalds comes in first.  Where in God's green earth are they finding those tasters?  They must be sitting on their taste buds.

Anyway, KEEP up the very good work, Starbuck's -- your coffe's better 'cause your beans are better!

I honestly think that Starbucks is much too over-rated and is convenient because of their hours and when on a long road trip they're easier to spot.

Hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana,  it is so nice to find the Starbucks sign and quality almost everywhere that I travel...

the farthest Starbucks that I have stopped into was 12,880 miles away (which is half way around the world) in downtown Dunedin, Southland, New Zealand.  A friendly smile and hello from the Barista's and I immediately feel at home.

Thanks to Starbucks for all the ways that they have enriched my life... I guess I just love good coffee !

Congratulations on your #1 ranking.  We were VERY disappointed that Starbucks discontinued its Duetto program where purchases on our credit card returned $1 in Starbucks credit for every $100 purchase so we are not stopping by as often, but when we do we really enjoy the coffee and our visits.

I really like starbucks coffee at home, but at Starbucks, for almost 5 years I purchased a Java Chip Frap, and I really miss them since you changed the recipe.  Now I only buy beans and an occasional drink for a friend, so honestly you are no longer my favorite place to visit.  Sorry:(

Congratulations Starbucks! I will always love a great cup of Verona.

@bronxie1945 - The most 'green' thing you can do is bring in your own tumbler.

@turtle4 - I can appreciate other roasters too, but Stumptown? I want tea to be tea, and coffee to be coffee, and never shall the twain meet. Stumptown is an extreme light roast. Prefer not to buy beans at a place where if you go to their cuppings their roasters brag that they bring out the "tea like" flavors of their coffees.

It's fabulous to hear such positive Starbucks experiences from all over the world!

You are reliably a superior cup of joe and I will admit that I try not to to drink any other brand. I will admit I am a Starbuck's addict and those who know me think I should have a personal parking space out in front of your store given my recurrent migration for my daily hook up. Nothing brings a smile faster to my face than a friend toting a grande with extra shots. You are the mountaintop of coffee, not surprising that you were voted number one, again. I even own your stock! Thanks for being the measure of quality in every way with regard to coffee and your coffee products. I am another who looks for your signs when I travel.

I am a little unusual in that I do not like and have never drank a cup of coffee!!  But, I sure do enjoy your iced Chai Tea Lattes!!!!  I have tried others and they never compare!  I also like the experience of going to Starbucks and being treated so well.  This is especially true of MY own Starbucks, but it is nice to be treated well while traveling also!  The only exception is in the airports, but they aren't REAL Starbucks!!  So keep up the good work!!

Yes, the coffee is extraordinary. But what I credit you for is creating environments in which we can enter and feel welcome.  The cafes are not "eating stations" where one feels a pressure to drink up and leave but an environment of ease and comfort where, for the price of a coffee, one can open her laptop or newpaper and simply "be".  Thank you for that. Many other small town cafes have opened because of you and a coffee culture has developed.

Great News for Starbucks.  I'm not surprised.  I love the Starbucks on Main St. in De Pere Wi.  Several of the Baristas know me by name.  And when I go through the drive thru, they will write something cute on my cup and add a heart.  My kids and friends think that is so neat.  I take my 6 year old Grandson there often.  He loves it too.  He thinks it is so neat when they make his hot chocolate.  He always takes off the lid to see if there is a face on the whipped cream.

They are such a personable group and make you feel special being there.  In this time, often you being the customer are not treated this way.  I love it......please don't change.

I love my Starbucks Torrance, CA (Sepulveda/Vermont) The baristas there are awesome. They greet you with a smile and if you're stuck with how you want something, they will work with you to figure out how you want it to make it that way. Their pastries are never hard but always soft & tasty. I've been the customer as well as on the other side of the counter as the worker pleasing the customer and as they say its the great customer service that brings you back. This is true of this store. I also have a Starbucks near my work and I can't say the same of that store. (I won't say where it is) I ended up with a hard almost as a rock coffee cake once and while they did exchange it but that was pretty much my last time to go because they can't make my coffee as great as my Starbucks. I will make the time just to go to the one near me otherwise I will not go at all. I thank them each time I go, for it is a pleasure to go there all the time=)

I have sung the praises of Starbucks for years and been a loyal customer.  There's not much more I could say here that I haven't said either on msi, and elsewhere, or that hasn't already been said here.

I think that's why we are (most of us) so passionate about various changes, etc, with Sbux....  because we are passionate about our stores, our coffee, our comfort, our safe havens.  It would be a sad existence without my Sbux....  (relatively)

I have always loved Starbucks, it was my favorite moment of each day.  Then tragedy struck!  My doctor told me no more caffeine, I was devastated!  What would I do without my daily fixes of caffeine?  Well the doc suggested decaf...........yuck I thought.  Then I figured maybe it would be better than nothing.  So I did my walk of shame to Starbucks and ordered a decaf Pikes Place....it was delicious!  I was ecstatic!  Next I ordered my favorite Verona in decaf....same thing!  I'm back baby!   Well sort of at least caffeine free but the flavor is just as good.  Thank you for being there and allowing me some consistency in my life.

Starbucks is amazing coffee.  I drink it every morning after I am on my way back from the gym.  I love the individuals who work in the Ashwaubenon, WI Starbucks; they are always so friendly in the morning and have a great talent to make it a great day everyday.  Thank you Starbucks for your continuous improvements and enhancements.
