Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is Back!

Hi everyone, it’s Kelly from the Espresso team.

I wanted to respond to all of the loyal Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate fans out there and let you know that we have heard you!  I am pleased to announce this delicious beverage is back in U.S. and Canada stores!

Many of you were disappointed when our Signature Hot Chocolate did not return to stores last fall and we have been diligently working on a solution to fill that void.  Starbucks® new Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate includes many of the great flavors you enjoyed before but is now crafted in a very similar way to our everyday hot chocolate our customers have come to love.

Starbucks new Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is an indulgent treat that combines our bittersweet mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup and is topped with whipped cream, a buttery caramel drizzle, and a flavorful sprinkling of Starbucks® premium sea salt topping.

This beverage is a wonderful way to stay warm on those cold fall days coming our way and for those of you who prefer to have that rich Starbucks® coffee flavor in your drink, ask the barista to add a shot of espresso.

Come on in and enjoy a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate today!

I am really glad that this was brought back.  I know quite a few people who had this everyday.  For them, especially, I thank you Sbux!  (and they are enjoying it now...even tho slightly different)

this is  a very good drink.although this year it seems that it does not have the saltiness like before.i've tried 3 different locations and its all the same.i probably won't be enjoying it as much this year.

Now when you say "diligently working on a solution", does that mean you're bringing it back? Even if you just brought back the SHC as a seasonal, I'd love it. I've had the Salted Caramel Mocha and Hot chocolate, and I thought they were just okay, not rich enough for my liking. I never had the original, but the Espresso Truffle had become my new favorite.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have missed this soooo much! I literally let out a shriek and did a little celebration dance when I saw it back on the menu back in September. You just made my year!

My 13 yo son LOVES this.  He noticed as soon as it went back on the menu.  He actually noticed that the salt was back 1st.

The new salted caramel hot chocolate is GROSS.  It is not the same as the previous "signature" version which was fantastic.  It uses the toffee nut syrup that also ruins the frappe of the same name.

The Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate sounds good, but I am still waiting for Starbucks to bring back the Chantico.

Is it glutenfree?

I loved it the first time around.

Its like chocolate covered pretzels with carmel in a drink.

Gotta be honest... not as good as the Signature Hot Chocolate salted carmel drink. But, hey, I usually do coffee drinks anyway.

There is some information out on the internet that this item does, in fact, contain gluten. I know you (Starbucks) can't say that anything is "gluten-free" anymore, but is it possible to let us know if this DOES definitely have gluten containing ingredients? I would really like an answer straight from the source, instead of basing my decisions off of posts on other sites. Thank you!!
