World AIDS Day and 12 Days of Sharing
Hi there! It’s me—Sarah, from the merchandise team. December 1 marks World AIDS Day and the start of our 12 Days of Sharing promotion. On this day, we'll feature our (STARBUCKS) RED products, emphasizing the contribution that Starbucks will make with each sale. These particular merchandise items will be featured on a pedestal table, and include: (STARBUCKS) RED Card This year’s (STARBUCKS) RED (TM) Card and carrier were designed by Jonathan Adler, a leading designer of housewares and host of Bravo’s Top Design . Starbucks will contribute 5 cents (U.S.) per transaction made on any (STARBUCKS) RED Card to the Global Fund through 2011. What’s most exciting is that … more »
¡Hola, El Salvador!
You’ve asked us on MSI for a store in El Salvador, and we’re pleased to announce that the next time you visit San Salvador, we’ll welcome you with a friendly ¡bienvenid os! This gorgeous new store opened last month in the Plaza Santa Elena shopping complex. We have been purchasing Salvadorian coffee since our first year in 1971, so it seemed only appropriate to spotlight a local offering in this new coffeehouse. Proudly featured is our El Salvador Pacamara single-origin coffee, a bright and medium-bodied offering , which is highlighted by pungent herbal notes and a citrusy finish. Join the more than 20,000 fans of Starbucks El Salvador, see pictures and learn more at www … more »
Dark Chocolate Mocha
Hello, We’ve seen an outpouring of comments related to dark chocolate ; it’s always great to see this kind of passion about the beverages at Starbucks! It creates an enormous amount of excitement for what we can offer you in the future. The mochas you enjoy in our stores today are made with a blend of two cocoas, which are layered to produce a rich chocolate experience that enhances the flavor profile of the espresso. Think of the two working together to produce the complex flavors you experience in every delicious sip! We enjoy bringing to life variations of chocolate to satisfy your chocolaty urges, like recently the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate (which also makes a delicious mocha … more »
The Joy of Christmas, Even On the Go
Christmas has many memories for me – the childhood ones are glowing, happy thoughts of tinsel-decked trees, crisp New England air with the chance of snow, and the delightful anticipation of Christmas morning’s presents. Now as a working adult living in a Seattle condo, I enjoy the milder Northwestern winters and have a small tree that isn’t any higher than my waist – but I still love the season, especially since I can now enjoy a cup of spiced eggnog or mulled wine with my holiday dinners. There’s only one aspect of the holidays that has been a major downgrade from when I was a child, and that can be summed up in a single word: travel. With my entire family living … more »
MSI Idea Partner Holiday Gift List
Happy holidays MSI community. As many of us our doing our last minute shopping, the MSI Idea Partner team gathered a list of Starbucks items that are on our shopping lists. Let us know what your favorite Starbucks gifts are. sbx_slon : Sue from our Global Responsibility team recommends a Starbucks Travel Mug – every time you use it you get $0.10 off, and you save a cup. Plus it keeps your drink hot or cold much longer! sbx_dgar : Diana with the Register Systems team just purchased the Huxley the Mouse Ceramic Cup . It comes with a cute little mouse on the top of the handle and a sweet verse inside. We are hoping it encourages our 3 year old picky eater to drink her milk and feel like a … more »
Answering Your Starbucks® Natural Fusions Questions
Hi! My name is Mani, and I worked on the development and launch of Starbucks® Natural Fusions . We’ve heard lots of your comments and questions, and we wanted to make sure that you have the latest information. Many of you have asked: where’s hazelnut? We hear you on this flavor request. Because Starbucks® Natural Fusions are made with natural flavors and real ingredients ground right in, developing a nut-based product has allergen implications that we have to work through. I can’t promise we’ll figure this out, but we are definitely looking at it. We would also love to figure out how to offer a mocha-flavored coffee – more to come on this front! One other … more »
Make a Starbucks Card even Sweeter
One of my favorite gifts to give at the holiday time is a Starbucks Card. I give them to my hairdresser, my dog walker, and select family and friends. Everyone loves Starbucks (and there’s always one close by), so it’s always a well-received gift. I have to admit that there are a couple downsides to gift cards as gifts, however. The biggest issue is that there’s nothing to wrap. It just isn’t quite the same to open an envelope as it is to unwrap a present, even a small one. And the other issue is that on Christmas morning, there’s not much you can do with a gift card right away, it’s the one day of the year when your local Starbucks is probably closed (or at … more »
