The Joy of Christmas, Even On the Go

Christmas has many memories for me – the childhood ones are glowing, happy thoughts of tinsel-decked trees, crisp New England air with the chance of snow, and the delightful anticipation of Christmas morning’s presents.

Now as a working adult living in a Seattle condo, I enjoy the milder Northwestern winters and have a small tree that isn’t any higher than my waist – but I still love the season, especially since I can now enjoy a cup of spiced eggnog or mulled wine with my holiday dinners.

There’s only one aspect of the holidays that has been a major downgrade from when I was a child, and that can be summed up in a single word: travel. With my entire family living on the other side of the country, I inevitably get on a plane every year right in the heart of the busiest travel season. I’ve encountered every conceivable delay: snow storms, plane trouble, inexplicably canceled flights, missed connections and on and on.

I’ve spent the night in an airport more times than I care to recall. Knowing that I will inevitably end up wandering around an airport late at night, somewhere in the middle of the country, exhausted and trying to kill a few hours until my next flight is a daunting part of the holiday season.

This year, I’m preparing myself before I head to the airport – by stashing packets of Starbucks VIA® Christmas Blend in my carry-on. Anywhere I can find a cup of hot water, any time of day or night, I’ll be able to make myself a spicy, seasonal cup to brighten up my trip.

I’ve been a fan of our Christmas Blend for a long time for its earthy, full-bodied taste –  and the ability to carry it with me in instant form will brighten up the one dark spot in my holiday season. And I’ll be sure to pack a little extra to share the joy with my family as well.

From an Amy Veteran, who goes to the Star Bucks, drive through on Gandy, BLVD, S. Tampa, FL

Hello, I am reporting too the Director and Manager of your Store located off Gandy BLVD..  Sir/ Mam, I would like to honor the entire hard working staff who day and night take on the daily challenging Star Bucks, fans, loyal to Star Bucks and not some watered down coffee place.  I hope this letter reaches the Corporate Manager of South Tampa, in giving a hard working Star Bucks, Employee,  Crystal, a raise, along with the rest of the staff.  Who greets this soldier every morning, or afternoon, and knows me by name "Russell".   I never break a promise, when I know someone dedicated as these Star Bucks Employee's.  Who work hard for I can't imagine, how they remember all those drink's, take on a drive through customers as well as customers who our walk-ins.   Having served this County for so long and having a Sister currently deployed on her 3rd tour in Afghanistan. Nothing enlightens a soldiers morning after pulling guard duty, than her opening a Holiday Gift, Star Bucks Coffee, my sister literally started crying.  Cause she had a rough night and was real tired, and get's this box out of know where, with a card, saying " One can never lead a group of soldiers, without falling first and learning from her own mistakes, always around to care, day and night, she literally was happy and her Unite, to receive such a gift from the Star Bucks Drive Through on Gandy Blvd.  Now their is a Wal-Mart open those employees deserve 10 star's. You people support us Military Soldiers, honestly you guy's should have a Employee Reward Program, like a day off with pay or something especially for Crystal.....

I know when she receives this letter from a Corporate Manager, or her Manager on duty. She will be in tears, but happy Tears, knowing that one Customer was not just all talk and no action..

I never break a promise......

Those employee's who server me my favorite drink in S. Tampa FL.  Deserve a Raise!!.....

And do an outstanding, job in my eyes.

Please make sure this reaches someone in charge..

Sincerely,

Russell Morehouse
