One of my favorite gifts to give at the holiday time is a Starbucks Card. I give them to my hairdresser, my dog walker, and select family and friends. Everyone loves Starbucks (and there’s always one close by), so it’s always a well-received gift.
I have to admit that there are a couple downsides to gift cards as gifts, however. The biggest issue is that there’s nothing to wrap. It just isn’t quite the same to open an envelope as it is to unwrap a present, even a small one. And the other issue is that on Christmas morning, there’s not much you can do with a gift card right away, it’s the one day of the year when your local Starbucks is probably closed (or at least opening late).
