Dark Chocolate Mocha

 Hello,

We’ve seen an outpouring of comments related to dark chocolate; it’s always great to see this kind of passion about the beverages at Starbucks! It creates an enormous amount of excitement for what we can offer you in the future.

The mochas you enjoy in our stores today are made with a blend of two cocoas, which are layered to produce a rich chocolate experience that enhances the flavor profile of the espresso. Think of the two working together to produce the complex flavors you experience in every delicious sip!

We enjoy bringing to life variations of chocolate to satisfy your chocolaty urges, like recently the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate (which also makes a delicious mocha with the addition of espresso) or the Toffee Mocha; however, at this time we’re not exploring dark chocolate.

Please continue to use this outlet to channel your ideas and comments; we really do take them into consideration and we always enjoy the dialogue.

The headline certainly does tease and make it sound like it will be coming, especially since it's supposedly an "idea in action"....more like an "idea you want but we don't...we just want to let you know we heard you but aren't listening".

We apologize if this blog has caused confusion.  We wanted to acknowledge that we see the Dark Chocolate Mocha ideas and let you know that it is not being worked on at this time due to other priorities.

@Cecile:  thanx for coming on and at least speaking to this confusion.  

I agree  with carollk and flukes:  this is a NOT-Idea-in-Action and really doesn't belong here, I think.  Other than just kind of plugging other chocolate options, I see this as saying: here's YOUR desire, your idea, and we're not doing it.  I feel this belongs somewhere on the other side in the mix of requests for it in the first place.  This was clearly misleading and in the wrong place.

Please explain to me how the dark cherry mocha was "formulated" to enhance the flavor profile of the espresso.  I miss that drink too.  Dark chocolate isn't for everyone (as evidenced by comments here), but if there is such demand, why isn't SBUX considering this a priority?  Particularly since you *did* roll out a dark chocolate variation this year?

Dark Cherry Mocha was made with Dark Cherry Syrup and Starbucks Mocha Sauce.

I recently made a trip to Okinawa.  I was really excited to see Starbucks there and stopped in.  I was even more excited to see on their menu a Dark Chocolate Mocha Chip Frappaccino.  Since I'm a dark chocolate fan, I decided to get one.  Oh my...it was so good!!  So, I was hoping that when I returned home, I'd find it on the menu in my local Starbucks.  But unfortunately, I did not.  They looked at me like I was from Mars when I asked about it.  So.....I was going to come here and ask if it was ever going to be put on the menu here in the states, but from the looks of your post, I guess there are no plans for that.  Bummer.  I think it'd be a huge hit!!

OMG!   Dark Chocolate Mocha Chip Frappaccino sounds fabulous.  Why don't they offer it here in the States??  Weird.  Imagine dark chocolate chips in the Double Chocolaty Chip Frappaccino-yum.

Dark Chocolate Mocha made with lactose free (cow) milk, would be a great seller!!!!
