Three Reasons Why I Love Bistro Boxes

I’ll admit it – it’s seriously hard to make good food choices when you’re busy. It always feels like I have to make a tough choice: will it be quick or will I feel good? And since I am already making admissions … sometimes I choose the wrong one. You know the wrong choice (we’ve all made them!), where you sacrifice speed for something that resembles food.

Our newest additions, Bistro Boxes, finally make these choices easy. Now you can enjoy fast, delicious wholesome food with whole grains, fruits and vegetables. And the super-cute box makes it easy to take wherever you are off to – your next meeting, in the car or hopefully the beach!

When you can recognize the food you’re eating its easy to know you’ve made a good choice, but you can also feel good about the fact we’ve crafted all Bistro Boxes to be less than 500 calories.

My new favorite go-to lunch is the Chicken Chipotle Wraps with whole wheat tortillas, white chicken breast and a crunchy lime-cilantro slaw that you can top with zesty pepper jack cheese and a tomato-avocado salsa.

Here are three reasons why I love it so much:

1. It’s full of flavor and has 26g of hunger-blasting protein!
2. It’s only 380 calories, and that includes dessert with a perfectly portioned piece of yummy dark chocolate.
3. Even with my favorite drink, a tall Tazo® Shaken Iced Passion Tea Lemonade, lunch is only 480 calories.

This will be great for the airport locations! Much rather have this on my flights!

The burning question is HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?

I love the new Bistro Boxes! I like the Chipotle one too. The lettuce wrap one is amazing, though works a little better as a salad than a wrap. ;)  That dark chocolate is fabulous.  Starbucks really launched great lunch options this time!

@Steve - The Chicken Chipotle Bistro Box is $6.95. Seems like a bargain considering the cost of lunch downtown.

@ sbx_evan - that sounds like a great pairing.  I'm going to try it!

Never mind, the last part of it is not coming up, although it showed up when I hit "Post."  sigh

For anyone interested, there's a fact sheet found on starbucks.com with prices and details.

These bistro boxes look very healthy - except for those of us who have to eat gluten-free.  Try adding rice noodles, or buckwheat noodles!!!

I like the piece of chocolate included in the entree-size Bistro Boxes.  It's a nice way to end the meal.

Too bad the Bistro Boxes are in limited stores! All the promotion that Starbucks is doing does not mention this very important fact!

It would be too bad if they don't have them at the airports.

I aggree with DadCooks, I've found that these are not available in all stores. In fact, several store's I've visited don't even know what these are.

Now... considering these are on the front page of www.starbucks.com I'd at least like store partners to be able to tell me 'Sorry, these aren't available at this location right now', or SOMETHING, instead of [basically] "Derrrr I have no idea what you're talking about, Derrrrr".

Sigh.

Thanks for your feedback and interest in Bistro Boxes being available at airport locations.  At this time for various reasons related to supply, distribution, and other factors this isn't possible, but we continue to work towards making our food items available in as many stores as possible.

Too bad.  The airport is probably the only place I would purchase something like this.  Now if you brought back the breakfast pairings, I'd be at my neighborhood Starbucks almost every morning.

The bistro boxes are great.  It goes nicely with my double expresso I get after my weekend workouts!  However, it would be great if the sodium count was lowered.  For a snack all the boxes are extremely high.  Since the recommended amount of sodium per day for a person over 50 is 1500mg ,  500mg or more in a snack is quite high.

I was finally able to get one of my favorite Bistro boxes today, the Chicken and hummus. They are usually out of this one. And there was no piece of chocolate in the box !

I live 45min to an hour away from the nearest Starbucks, so I am lucky to get there 2 or 3 times a month. It is very disappointing to get there and they are out of what I want.

Love Starbucks, wish there was one closer ! I live in the Mountains. so unfortunately I don't get down into the city a lot.

How about you make these available in all stores?  There is plenty of hype about them, but there not available.  Your just alienating your customers.

Are you planning on offering bistro boxes all over the country.  I work in Covington, Louisiana, store #10032, and we have many customers looking for lunch choices, cold sandwiches, fruit cups, etc.
