Treat Receipt Returns

The summer sun is heating up and what better way to beat the heat than celebrating the return of treat receipt!  This is the perfect way to cool off on any hot summer day with a cold Grande hand-crafted drink for only $2 (plus applicable tax).   My favorite summer drink is our Tazo® Iced Passion Tea Lemonade with its blend of hibiscus herbal tea and tangy lemonade sweetened to perfection.   This pink hued drink pairs perfectly with flip flops, sunglasses, and a sunny summer day.

And starting this year our friends in Canada can take advantage of treat receipt – same refreshing beverages, same price $2 (plus applicable tax).  Many of you already know the drill, but it’s easy to take advantage of the treat receipt, just come in anytime before 2 p.m. for your regular morning purchase and return after 2 p.m. with your receipt in hand for any cold hand-crafted beverage for only $2 (plus applicable tax).

*Treat Receipt is available at participating stores.*

Make sure that if you're ordering more than one drink including one that is under $2 (a grande iced tea at my Starbucks is $1.90) that they don't give you the $2 deal on the under $2 drink.  You wouldn't think that would happen, but it did to us and you wouldn't believe how long it took us to get them to correct it.  I don't understand why the cash register even lets that happen.

Thanks for the feedback carollk.  I've shared this with the team.

Does this work for any size? As in, a $2 Venti drink?

Treat Receipt is for a Grande (16 oz.) size beverage.

Is the treat receipt good for any grande cold beverage. The sign at the cash register states that the receipt is good for "any grande cold beverage", however, one barista at my local starbucks insist on charging me an additional 50 cents for my Iced Hazelnut Latte' indicating that the Hazelnut cost extra. Which I don't think is right considering you can get a skinny vanilla latte for just the $2. Please clarify!

Can you ask that the Venti Drinkers get a discount also?

The Treat Receipt is good for any Grande Cold Beverage including the added syrup and other modifiers.  Tax is added, so if the beverage total is over $2 it may be the tax.

I used a treat receipt for a coffee frappuccino with hazelnut and the hazelnut was deducted.  Although I did pay with my registered card, so maybe that was why?

Is the treat receipt good for anytime between 2:00 PM and closing? I had a barista tell me that it was actually only good between 2:00 - 5:00 PM, but that's not printed on the receipt anywhere.

sbx_bean

The treat receipt is good from 2 pm to closing.

So what are people supposed to do about Starbucks employees who don't understand the rules and refuse to honor a promotion?

I actually didn't have a complaint this time. :)  It's Sandyh63 who was charged extra for syrup and Pamb2k3 whose treat receipt wasn't honored after 5 pm.

Uh - actually, that's not what I wrote. I had a question, and it was answered. If I have other questions or comments, I'll submit them myself - thanks, though!

I haven't experienced the treat receipt yet.  I always get a Venti white chocolate frap w/2% milk and whipped cream.  Can I use the treat receipt to get a $2 frap?

sbx_bean
8/10/2011 2:31 PM

@bear191 - you can get a Grande size for $2 after 2 pm with your treat receipt.

The idea of the Treat receipt is a great idea when it's offered.  Here is Pittsburgh, PA every single Starbucks opted out of this, this year.  Off the top of my head that's 8+ stores.

I have enjoyed this every year but this one and I was very disappointed ;-(   Why is this allowed? are they not company owned???

I've been taking advantage of this deal all week (I'm somewhat addicted to coffee), but when does this awesome event end?

I love the treat receipts,,,I always get 2 extra espresso shots too and these are deducted using my card......cut the sugar in the frappes though, as suggested in another forum....we can add our own sweetener

I recieved a certificate for a free "tall" coffee of my choice being a Breast Cancer Survivor, and I went in not knowing what "tall" meant, I do not frequent Starbucks, but I thought it meant Large, the kid showed me the smallest cup, okay, its free, but how much to upgrade to the actually "tall" cup, Vinte I guess they call it, he asked the manager, they said no problem they would just charge me for a "Grande" and give me a "Vinte".  $4.56 later, What the heck, how much is the coffee there, if that is the DIFFERENCE???  So I didn't get anything free with my certificate, I just handed them a tax write off.  Starbucks wins in the end with this deal!

Sounds lovely :-) A few questions tho..

1. Is there a list of the participating stores on the website?

I'd like to know beforehand before I visit my local one.

2. Can we purchase ANY drink before 2pm to get the treat receipt?

where can I complain about the service at a Starbucks I go to?  I am a avid Starbucks customer (2times a day)and I hate when I get poor service! I have high expectations of you all!  The store in question is on the corner of 52nd street and Lexington Avenue in NYC!

Being diabetic I have always ordered the sugar free flavors, which are very limited and not available at all stores. I have   2 s/f sweeteners added instead. I cannot find any of these offerings on your online menu. Would you please list these and possible expand the variety available?

I am a decafe coffee drinker and would love to say that the fresh

brewed-in-store drip coffee is super good, taste like the "real thing" if you know what I mean.

Have you guys been to Starbucks store in Fair Oaks Mall (Fairfax, Va)? The store number is 7524. It takes them three times as long as most of the starbuck store I visit to make me my capucino. It doesn’t matter even when  it is not their busy hour. And surprisingly this happen even when four or five employees are working. I brought it to the store manager a couple of time. Today there were three customers and four employee on shift and it took me about 20 min to get my capucino. There is a series problem with this store.

I am very regular (Gold member ) to starbuck.
