The New StarbucksStore.com is Here!

My team and I have been hard at work for many months building a new and improved StarbucksStore.com for you. We’re thrilled to announce that it’s finally here!

One thing we think you’ll be really excited about is lower and easier shipping rates – just $3 for Standard UPS Ground shipping on orders in the contiguous United States.

We still carry all your favorite Starbucks® products – coffee, tea, mugs and tumblers. Plus we have unique items you can only find on StarbucksStore.com like Cold Cup Straws and Domed Cold Cup Lids (thanks to your great ideas at MyStarbucksIdea.com). We’ve also expanded our assortment of brewing equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, drip coffee makers and more.

Another thing we’ve done is upgrade our coffee subscription program with new features like the ability to pause your auto-shipments when you go on vacation. Having your favorite coffee and tea delivered right to your home is easier than it’s ever been before.

If you’re a My Starbucks Rewards member, be sure to enter your membership information in your StarbucksStore.com account and you’ll get special offers depending on your rewards level.

Stop by and see for yourself!

Sign-in for old customers not as smooth as it could be (long delays when submitting new "required information" and linking to Starbucks Card account).

Since the Cooking.com logo is no longer on the bottom of each page of the store site, I hope this indicates that Cooking.com is no longer doing your fulfillment.

Sorry about that, DadCooks.  We did add a few extra steps in the process to make it more secure for our customers.  However, we want the process to be speedy and easy, so if you’re still having problems, please let us know by emailing us at StarbucksStore@starbucks.com, or calling us at 877-421-9062.  Any information you can give us will help us improve our processes.

@sbx_lwag -- no problems other than the long times to execute responses, may have had more to do with Internet loads and the handshaking that had to go on during the linking to the Starbucks Card account.

I do notice a potential problem.

The web page addresses for products have now gotten quite long and appear to have some elements of dynamics to them. This can pose a problem if someone wants to send or post a page link to a product (i.e. 404, page not found errors) and of course old links no longer work (I will post links on MSI when people have a idea that is really a question about a store product).

Still curious about the disappearance of the Cooking.com logos on the Starbucks Store pages.

@sbx_lwag -- sorry I meant to include an example of the page link difference.

For the domed cold cup lid:

Old link:

www.starbucksstore.com/.../shprodde.asp

New link:

www.starbucksstore.com/.../011009585,default,pd.html

Currently the old link does resolves to the new page, but can this be depended upon?

For travel cups, it would be very nice if you could show a photo of the TOP, the lid, in both open and closed positions.

Congratulations on launching the new site.  I really like the subscription feature (and am pleased to be able to get some replacement lids for my cold cups).

The site looks great, but I did find a few bugs.

I did a quick video and blog at retailgeek.com/.../what-e-commerce-sites-can-learn-from-starbucks with my impressions from a usability perspective!

Cheers,

Jason "Retailgeek" Goldberg

What happened to the sugar free syrups? They're no longer in my subscription list and I can't find them on the site. My co-workers and I will be very bummed if they're no longer available.

:(

Thanks for the comments.

@Emma1 Sugar free syrups are back! You can find them here: www.starbucksstore.com/.../treat,default,sc.html

Is the store going to be availible in Canada?

@retlgeek We did see your review, Jason, and have watched your video. Thanks for the useful feedback.

@Adamg Thanks! We’ll consider that in our next round of product photography.

@DadCooks Not to worry, we’re redirecting links and optimizing our URLs to improve the experience.

@KTDinCAN - StarbucksStore.com is only available in the U.S. at this time.  Bringing it to Canada is an idea we're vetting.

What would also be good is that every individual Starbucks location can have there own website linked to the Starbucks main website. Just to note not all locations have the same crap on the menu as others do so it would be a good idea in order to sync down the locations you're trying to find that carry what you want even if it is away to find a drive in Starbucks location! By the way. Crap is just a term I use to describe "stuff".

Please offer free shipping several times a year or TO GOLD CARD members.  I loved the Galapalgos reserve blend coffee but adding on shipping makes it really expensive. It would be a great gold card member perk and I would order more often from the website.

Also, I love the fact that we can use our Gold Card to pay and receive a star...although I think it should be commensurate to amount spent.

I also think if you order a bag of the reserve coffee you should get a coupon to redeem at your local Starbucks for the free drink if you buy a bag of reserve blend. Since reserve blends are NOT available nationwide the online customer should not miss out on the benefit of a free drink.  Thanks!
