Our Best Frappuccino® Blended Beverage Ever?

I’m super excited to introduce the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino® blended beverage, coming to Starbucks for the very first time. You’ve been asking us for a new, amazing flavor – and here it is!

This beverage strikes the perfect flavor balance with our rich mocha sauce, toffee nut syrup, coffee, fresh milk and ice.  Then we top it off with a buttery caramel drizzle and a sprinkle of sugared sea salt topping.

Some people who have tried it are saying it’s “the best Frappuccino® blended beverage we’ve ever had at Starbucks.” Pretty bold statement, huh?  Well, now you can try it for yourself, and we want to know what you think!

So it is basically a toffee nut mocha with caramel drizzle and salt topping. So  i am a gold card holder and get syrup for free so can i order it broken down or will the toffee nut syrup be taken off automatically with gold card on salted caramel iced mocha?

I saw a Salted Caramel Mocha LIGHT Frappuccino on the web site.  The description said it was made with sugar-free toffee nut syrup.  Is this true?  Do you have sugar-free toffee nut?

I guess not, because I see the description has been changed.  That was fast.

This was available last year, just under a different name.

It does not say sugar free toffee nut. It says the base is light. No, there is no such thing as sugar free toffee nut and none of the light frappuccinos are made with sugar free syrups unless you ask for them.

It DID say sugar free toffee nut.  They changed the description after I posted.

And by the way, what is "salted caramel" about the Salted Caramel Mocha Light Frappuccino?  It's just a mocha light frappuccino with toffee nut syrup.  There is no salted and no caramel.

Thank you carollk for your feedback.  There was an error on Starbucks.com.  We do not have a sugar-free toffee nut syrup.  I love this flavor with the Salted Caramel Mocha or Frappuccino, but if you want to save calories you can ask your barista to substitute the Toffee Nut Syrup with Sugar-free Vanilla, Sugar-free Caramel, Sugar-free Hazelnut, or Sugar-free Cinnamon Dolce.

The Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino Light is made with the light frappuccino base, but the mocha, caramel, and toffee nut syrup ingredients do have sugar in it.

Thank you sbx_bean for your response.  This is the starbucks.com description for a Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino Light: "Rich mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup blended with coffee, nonfat milk and ice."  Can you tell me why this drink would be called "Salted Caramel"?  There is no salt and no caramel.

@caorllk: I don't know what's in this and what's not, but, in above post by sbx_bean, she does  say there is caramel.  (I don't really see the salt part listed either. ???)

I ordered one at a Dominick's and I saw them studying the play book, but in the end it was a mocha light frappuccino with toffee nut syrup, just as described on the web site.  It was delicious, but there was no caramel and no salt and it makes no sense why they would call it Salted Caramel.

@carollk - I've never ordered a Salted Caramel as a light Frappuccino, but I have a guess as to why you got what you did.  In a regular version, the caramel is caramel drizzle, which I don't think they have a sugar-free version of.  So, I'd imagine they leave it off of light things.  And the topping is sea salt and sugar...so again, perhaps they skipped it because you wanted it light?  Maybe next time, specify that you want both of those, even though you're getting a light Frappuccino?  Or you could ask them to sub the toffee nut for sugar-free caramel syrup, and add the salt topping.  Hope this helps!

That sounds like the perfect drink for me because I love anything salty & sweet!

The only problem is that I'm diabetic!  I hate whenever Starbucks comes out with a yummy drink and I just sit there with my regular coffee watching all my friends drink up!

LadyKathryn - I don't need to have salt and caramel.  What I am looking for is an explanation as to why they have a drink called Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino Light that doesn't have salt or caramel.  Why don't they simply say that that the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino is not available in a Light version?  Just as a Caffe Mocha is not available as Skinny.

I love, love this drink :D

It is neck in neck with the White Peppermint Mocha!

carollk - I see.  I misunderstood, then.  I thought you wanted the salt and caramel.  Sorry about that!  You make a good point, though.  If they're going to leave those off in the light version, then selling it as a Salted Caramel anything is rather silly.

Carolk, I think that toffee nut is one of my favorite syrups and I think because of my baking background I just associate toffee with a hard crack cooked caramel and the most delicious kind of toffee is the kind with nuts in them because it gives you that saltiness that balances the sweetness out to make the whole mouth happy. =) So in a way I guess that is why even without toppings I would think you will still get the salty caramel taste you are looking for.
