St Petersburg [Florida] needs its own mug! The Tampa mug is already using *our* Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Just replace the city name and Tampa's skyline with the city marina.

I love the global mugs and am an avid collector!!! I live in Chicago, heres the deal, I want to know why Willis "sears" tower isn't on the mug's skyline?!?

I don't think you really need more varieties of city merchandise, just more cities! We enjoy going to Starbucks in different cities and scoring a new city mug for our (Shift Supervisor) son's collection. Tulsa, Shreveport, Birmingham, Lubbock...lots of places all need mugs!!

I would love to see college campus inspired mugs.   Most major campuses have Starbucks on or near campus. Im from eugene, and how cool would it be to have a university of Oregon themed Starbucks mug!

I'd love to see Starbucks expand the State mugs to all 50 States.  Anytime I'm in a new State this is my "go to" collection item. :-D

If you go global it would be nice to have India, this would make a great artistic mug.

Would love to see one for Atlanta

In my opinion, every state should have either a city (if the state has a major city) or a state mug (i.e. West Viriginia) and be sold in each store in that state!!  Customers (and partners) collect these and it's a pride thing. It's biased against us smaller states to not have a mug like bigger states!  Equal mug rights!

Definately on a state mug. Would take some research but several states have something that makes them historical or "famous".

In Little Rock, Arkansas we have the largest pedestrian bridge in the U.S. It is also of gorgeous design.

Am a HUGE city mug collector (even made a blog about my collecting at starbucksmug.com ). Honestly would LOVE it if the actual shape of the mug was upgraded from the default regular white mug with a picture on the exterior. Really like the Chinese New Year mugs as they're hand painted on the inside making them stain proof. Also more visual.

PLEASE can we have a new Tokyo City Mug. All other cities in Japan have gotten a new design but Tokyo, the mug with the least popular design has been stuck with the same look for over a decade. PLEASE upgrade!

Mugs should be made in the USA for US mugs.

I love the mugs - and I love the starbucks city cards.  The problem I see, as a partner, is that people love the cards but really just want the cards.

A solution, I think, would be to pair the cards with a city mug in a packaged set (have the card preloaded with $5) and sell them together.  That way, people aren't just collecting blank cards, we sell a mug, and we have more people using starbucks cards because they have their own city/state card.

I would *love* a Los Angeles card, or a California card.

Nearly all public school systems across America are stressed... many in dire need of supplemental funding. 'Buck's is community-centric and has many causes it supports. Would you consider a small portion of the proceeds of cup sales go the local public school system's general fund, of the city/state appearing on the cup?

So many of your customers visit your stores everyday and we have kids in the public schools. Buy a mug for your local public schools program.

Starbucks has a strong female customer base. I could see a mini fashion presentation at retail. Women's scarves featuring the art direction/creativity Starbuck's is known for. Branded certainly, but not ostentatiously so... great fashionable textures, colors, exotic themes... just irresistably beautiful... the start of the Starbucks label. I'd like to be part of this! But, get Loie Maxwell behind it... she's your new VP Creative and the best!

Again, because you have unique access to women (who are the shoppers of America... bless 'em!), I could see a line of home tabletop accessories branded to Starbucks, again subtle branding. Cloth napkins, placemats, table cloths all featuring coordinated, great Starbucks art direction. You could include sustainable fabrics/pigments in your program.

Again, Loie Maxwell could run with this!

2/14/2012 8:01 PM

Maybe incidental, but I could see a line of iPhone etc accessories/ jackets... Starbucks branded art direction, fun, beautiful, feel nice in your hand designs, textures, embossed etc... made of sustainable materials if possible.. another fashion item focused on your female customer.

Extend the Starbucks brand, vision, ethics and culture by launching a female focused (I don't mean to be sexist in any form, but women are the consumers), around Starbucks: The Label. Personal fashion, home accents, gifts... all promoting the creative vision and style people recognize as Starbucks... with some surprises. Distribute through Amazon maybe, but launch your own fashion site.

I'm happy to work on this. Loie Maxwell would be a good place to start.

Mug suggestions:

Baltimore:  Edgar Allan Poe with a raven

Maryland:  Blue point crab

Kentucky:  Thoroughbred horses, bluegrass

Virginia:  Mount Vernon, Monticello

Montana, Kansas City, Oklahoma City... all very good ideas!  Enthusiastically agree with suggestion for each state having their own mug.

I am a partner in Charleston, SC.  I have been stationed in 6 home stores throughout the city.  No matter which store I have been at,  I receive dozens of requests per month for first a Charleston City Mug and then in desperation when I inform them that they don't exist, they request a South Carolina Mug (which also does not exist.)  We suggest that customers come to this site and make their request but I am sure that posting to this site is a low priority over enjoying their vacation.  Charleston is a tourist city.  We have one of the top ten farmers markets in the nation.  We are a cruise port.  We are voted as one of the best/friendliest cities to visit in the nation.  We are the home of the new Boeing plant bringing hundreds of Seattle natives to town-Starbucks lovers that want to add a piece of Charleston to their Starbucks collections.  Please, please create a Charleston City Mug.  I am certain that I will be reordering every RP order!!!!!!

Since city mugs already exist for many US cities, what about putting together a variety of Starbucks coffee blends for any given city? Like, the Atlanta blend, Orlando blend, etc?

I think this concept would not only expand on the existing mug collection but complement the original idea for collectsble city mugs. Now there would be city coffee blends specific to each city to collect too!

How 'bout some custom mixes (music) from Starbuck's, available exclusively online and marketed in store... set up some tunes that work just with each unique blend of coffee?

No actual cds to generate... just the downlaods.

On my travels I often pick up Kitchen Towels as a momento. They are light, easy to pack and once you are home they remind you of your trip. However, I only buy ones that are good quality, better still if they are locally produced. So rather than some standard kitchen towel with a printed transfer on it, Starbucks could produce one in the US made of fine quality cotton or linen with some special texture, logo, or embossed scene etc.

How about a special Starbucks tall t-spoon with some sort of city or State logo. A tall teaspoon would be specially good for use in tall mugs, e.g. like the Starbucks 12oz mugs, and at home for ice-cream too. The logo, by State or city would make the t-spoons fun to collect and easy for people on vacation to carry home with them.

As a collector of Starbucks mugs, I agree with everyone that more cities and states need to be represented.

Many years ago I purchased retro designed cork coasters at the first Starbucks store by Pike Place market in Seattle.  The designs are coffee themed and fun.  I would love to see more coasters available for purchase.  Perhaps one set could be the "stamps" of the countries where the beans are picked, or maybe the logos of the many starbucks blends available.

Didn't read all the comments so not sure if this idea has already been shared but how about city specific cup sleeves.  I always bring my own sleeve when traveling since bringing my personal cup is a little more difficult.  I have never been that impressed with the reusable cup sleeves Starbucks has sold in the past.  It would be awesome to have a city sleeve to use when ordering in the store and then my city mugs to use at home.  Also reusable city tumblers could be cool.  A few years ago the reusable thermos/tumblers had great designs on them why not cities too?

I live in the Detroit area and own the Detroit mug. I visit Tennessee a lot but can never find a mug to represent my sisters state. On that same note I was recently in NY and could niether find a Starbucks within 100 miles of me or an NY mug:'( I passed through Ohio and they had a multitude of mugs but I really don't care for Ohio so that doesn't help any.  Anyway yes I think there should be mugs available for states and big cities. Plus I once owned a globe shaped mug from Starbucks that had a spill lid on it and loved it, it broke many years later and now I can't find one. Wish maybe they would bring it back( maybe for the world cup or possibly just for the hell of it ).

Thanks for listening , ken fries

Hi, What about creating city map mug?

Not just ordinary city map mug but something that is creative. For example, a mug that has LED green light? As you pour HOT/COLD drink, the sensor enables mug to glow green. “ECO-MUG or ECO-TUMBLER?”

Canada needs more city mugs. I've picked one up in Montreal but Ottawa (the nation's capital) doesn't seem to have its own, just the generic "Canada" mug.

Also, the NYC mug with the cab is my favourite from the group so far.

When I'm going through cities I usually pick up a magnet for the fridge in addition to my icon mug!  I don't know if that would be a huge market, but you could offer a magnet for each city with a second city/state icon.

It would be great if SBUX would announce on its Web site the launching of a new Icon mug.  For example, Lake Tahoe or the three "German" mugs that came out today.

Many collectors plan their vacations around destinations to pick-up mugs so it would be helpful if we know which and when mugs are available.

My friend is an artist and for fun he has been decorating Starbucks cups. He post his artwork on Facebook at the below address. I think you should definitely think about providing cups that children or even adults could decorate.

Please check out his artwork below.

Oh wow! A blog post for Starbucks mugs collectors to voice their suggestions!

I have a lot to say regarding the 08' City Mug Series:

1) Please consider re-issuing New Zealand mugs, such as Auckland, South Island and North Island

2) Make the Tokyo and Osaka mugs real!

3) More Canadian mugs please? Such as P.E.I., Nova Scotia, New Foundland? Also, please consider making Canadian demitasse sets.

4) Also, a lot of Mexican mugs are no where to be found! Please re-issue them?

5) A dedicated site for collectors would be amazing!

Thanks
