After months of arduous development work in the Starbucks test kitchen, we believe to have finally married our love of chocolate and raspberry into a single treat.  The new Raspberry Truffle Cake Pop is truly the perfect union of this love.  You will experience the blend of dark chocolate cake, raspberry jam and buttercream hugged together by a rich chocolaty coating and a touch of red raspberry-flavored powder – all on a stick.  I hope you and your valentine enjoy one of these treats this February 14th!

When you get tired of the cake pops, please make more muffin and coffee cake flavors.   Bring back the raspberry sunshine muffin.  Raspberry cream cheese coffee cake sounds good.

I was really sorry to see the rocky-road cake pops go.  I realize maybe I'm in the majority but don't find the rasp. truffle one to my liking at all.  

I wish there'd be overall better pastries..which I believe have taken a huge backseat to all the other fast food...sandwiches, snacks etc.  

In any case, Happy Valentine's day to everyone.  Hope to see much MORE Valentine's day next yr..this was the most meager one (on Valentine's-look, feel, stuff) that I can remember in 20+yrs.  

(ps: where was the bearista bear???  last yrs, while nothing to compare to yrs ago, was quite cute.  I'm guessing the minimally dressed "Christmas" one (2011), which didn't sell so well around here, influenced this?  but the Christmas bear was such a step down from 2010...simply jacket, pants and cap?  not much)

I was hoping to add a cute Valentines bearista this year as well. Shame that they are not as cute as years past and rarely make an appearance in stores.
