Congrats Cecile and team!
Let's take a look at where we have come to date. Starbucks 'claims' on Mar 30, 2012, that since 2008, over Over 200 Ideas Launched! )and that includes ideas from 'known' partners, posting on the partner side!
And, let's all take a good hard look at what Starbucks 'claims' are an idea (I'll put my comments in parentheses):
#15. Bring Back Chantico (Yeah, anyone try ordering one lately?)
#17. BPA-free Water Bottles (WOW! as if Starbucks just got to this before the law stepped in and banned its use in these products.)
#23. White Chocolate Mocha Nutrition Information (As if providing correct nutritional information has to be suggested as an 'idea'!)
#27. Gluten-free Packaged Food (Like finding Waldo!)
#32. Starbucks Card to fit on a Keychain (such a great idea- anyone remember the last year Starbucks offered these in the United States?)
#37. Increase Healthy Options (at least they know there's a difference) ALSO SEE #60
#49. Bring Back the Maple Oat Nut Scone (Is there a maple nut scone?)
#53. More Reusable Venti Cold Tumblers )As if something that sells so well should be disountinued?)
#55 – (RED) Gold Card (Another one like finding Waldo! Except Waldo exists to be found!)
#60 – Offer Healthier Treats (If not asked- what the hell would they be selling!)
#66 – Dark Cherry Mocha (Wonderful for some. You should try it- IF IT WERE AVAILABLE!)
#68 – Teach Baristas to say “Thank You” in Sign Language (HUH?)
#76 – Fat Free/Sugar-free Frappuccinos (A work in progress?)
#78 – Better Incentives for Personal Mugs (Still 10¢ in the US and Canada!)
#82 – Mini Cookies (?????)
#88 – Sell Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee (anyone know where to find this at Starbucks?)
#104 - Bring Back the Real Bearista® Bears (Anyone remember the last time you saw one in a Starbucks?)
#117 – Glass Water Bottle (anyone remember the voluntary Federal Recall that went along with this idea?)
#162 – Better Bagels (Are the bagels better now?)
#178 – Continue the Key Chain Card (And when may we expect this to happen?)
Then there's the bring a Starbucks to country whatever, #64 – Open a Store in Sweden, #114 – Open a Store in El Salvador, #188 – Open a Store in Norway. (like no one at Starbucks has a map, and a desire to expand globally?) As well as ideas of returning what are clearly seasonal items- or available seasonaly- like #199 – Bring Back Tribute Blend.
So people, there's my take on the past FOUR years, 100,000+ ideas submitted, and I'd be hard pressed to find 100 ideas that actually have been successfully implemented, and continue to be viable. And, looking at some of the ideas that Starbucks claims are an idea, and continues to take credit for, are downright embarrassing!
And- just for some added info- Here are some of the ideas listed as "IN ACTION" by Starbucks:
#17. BPA-free Water Bottles (Isn't that also #17?????)
20. Customer Voice - free beverage (partner idea) (So, it's 2012 now- how's that working out in the US, I ask?)
#157 – Rinse Sink at Bar (partner) (Where else should it be?)
#196 – Latte Art Pitcher (partner) (anyone seen any latte art at Starbucks lately?)
