Starbucks for iPhone: An App for All Users

It was brought to our attention that our Starbucks for iPhone application was not optimized to be fully accessible for the disabled community. Our development team set to work to remedy the limitation, and we’re proud to announce that our Starbucks for iPhone application is now accessible!

If you’re unfamiliar with accessibility technology, here’s a bit about how it works. Apple has developed screen reading technology for iOS devices that allows users to interact with touch screen applications without having to see the screen. Instead, VoiceOver does the work on behalf of the user, reading the interface and any available hints to help the user navigate successfully. It’s technology that enables users with disabilities to have full access to the features an app has to offer.

We want to thank the disabled community for bringing it to our attention that Starbucks could do more to support the community. Download the new accessible app here.
