Introducing Starbucks Runner Reward

We’ve all been there before. The 2:30-post-lunch-not-quite-snack-time energy lull, or in other words, prime time for a coffee run.

But as you’re heading to the door, you toss out a quick “Going on a Starbucks run, anyone want anything?” Next thing you know, your arm is covered in post-it notes scribbled with drink orders and you’re standing in front of a barista, trying to order the world’s most complicated espresso beverage for an officemate.

While your coworkers may not always recognize your heroic caffeine-fetching efforts, we sure do. Which is why we’re offering the Starbucks Runner Reward Program: come in with four drink orders, and we’ll give you the fifth handcrafted drink – your drink – for free. That’s any handcrafted drink, any size, free.

Because, as we see it, you’re a hero.

It works like this:

1.) Print the Starbucks Runner Reward order form here and have four friends fill out their drink orders.
2.) Fill in the fifth line with your (free!) beverage order and hand the sheet over to your barista at participating U.S. stores.
3.) Bring five drinks back to the office like a hero.

Energy restored. Friendships built. Runner rewarded. Win-win-win!

You should incorporate this as a feature of the mobile app.  You could just scan everyone's order from their starbucks app with a QR code from yours.  Then you could have starbucks scan all the orders.  It would make the runner's job a lot easier!

I think this is a great idea!

This is such a great idea! I'm always telling people at my office to get Starbucks because I'm a regular, and I usually go in with many drink orders at a time! Especially when there was the $2 fraps after 1:00pm promotion, I'd be getting at least 5 drinks and also have some coworkers there with me to get their favorite cold drink.

Actually, I just realized that this is only valid in the US! Please bring it to Canada!

Canada! Please, bring this to Canada!

It would be even better if this didn't expire in November 2012 and could be a standard perk in stores.
