The Verismo™ System is Now In Stores

Today is a big day – we’re launching the new Verismo™ System 580 machine in more than 5,000 select Starbucks stores in the United States and Canada!

The Verismo™ System is a single-cup machine that makes perfectly crafted Starbucks® lattes, espresso and brewed coffee – all at your fingertips.  Now, you can experience the machine in action by visiting a Starbucks near you

That’s because stores with the Verismo™ System will demonstrate the machine at various times between 8:00 a.m. and noon on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through December 22. Our baristas will show you how the Verismo™ System makes your favorite Starbucks drinks at home. They’ll even prepare a Caffè Latte just for you to enjoy.  (Don’t forget to ask your barista what time the store is planning to host the demonstrations, because times will vary.)

Our stores are carrying the silver Verismo™ System 580 machine, which retails at $199 and includes a free pack of pods with your purchase. Once you have your own machine, you can quickly replenish your Verismo™ pods because they are conveniently available wherever the machines are sold (including StarbucksStore.com).

I’m looking forward to seeing you in our stores and hearing about your experiences in seeing the Verismo™ System in action!

I look forward to it.  Yesterday, went to my local Starbucks (which is a high volume, Clover store) where I had seen a Verismo last week.  The baristas unfortunately didn't know anything about doing a demo; surprised this location wasn’t doing anything.  The barista at the register didn't even seem to know what I was talking about when I said 'Verismo.'  Will check again or other locations based on the days/times listed above.

I was thoroughly impressed.  And soooo sad that I don't have one at home rght now!

I tried a latte and a sample of Verona from the Versimo yesterday. It was much better than the Keurig, I have to admit. I was afraid it would be….because now I really want one but my Keurig isn’t even a year old yet. :( *sigh*

touche Starbucks, touche…I knew I should have waited for you  :)

I even joined Pinterest today in hopes of winning one, but sadly, that contest ended last week. :(

Dear Starbucks,

I recently went to your store 15335 to try a free verismo coffe that I received a postcard for. The card said from 4-6pm on October 15th. I walked in at 5:54 and waited on line like a normal customer. Ahead of me was a man with special needs so I wasn't too upset about having to wait. After 2 minutes of dealing with the man, she started giving him attitude and mocking him. He was just checking that the pastries were fresh so he named which ones he wanted (he brought a list) and he said "is that one fresh as well?" As a regular customer that has received not so fresh pastries in the past week or so I could understand his frustration and why he wanted to make sure. After the third pastry she started laughing and mocking him saying "yeahhh that ones fresh! haha". Her coworker muttered something under his breath and I was wondering why he wasn't making drinks or taking drink orders (not too upset about that either because I'm pretty patient) because the line was fairly long. Anyway, after mocking him for an additional 3 minutes she gave him his total and said "have a nice day" with attitude then said "i can help the next customer" which was me. So I approach her and hand her the postcard I received and she said sure I'll have him make one for you....ooooh, its 6:01. He got off at 6. So I calmly explained to her saying that I've been here since 5:55 and I was waiting in line while you were helping another customer. She said "well that's too bad because he stops working at 6" with so much attitude that I'm surprised I didn't just walk out of the store. The only reason why your corporation received your 5 dollars for your overpriced coffee is because I promised my roommate a free coffee. So I told her I wanted a grande cappuccino, handed her my Starbucks card and with out her telling me the price she swiped my card and handed me my card and receipt and again gave me a "have a nice day" full of attitude. I was going to let it slide and not get too boiled up about it so I grabbed the coffee, grabbed some sugars and just walked out. As I'm walking down Kuhio I look at my receipt and noticed that she charged me extra for venti and threw in soy-milk and a couple of syrups just for fun. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. I was at a point where I didn't want to even hold the cup in my hand anymore and I wanted to just throw it at your building. I can't believe how someone can show so much disrespect to so many customers in just one day. I have been a regular customer for over 5 years and in the past few weeks I've noticed how much you've changed. It used to be about the customers, now it's about the money. You have now lost at least $150 per week because both my roommate and I refuse to buy anything from your corporation. I'm sure soon this will have an impact because I see that many people are refusing your "Service"

Have a nice day.

I feel bad for KitteyandKat above. That just stinks. Here in my area I've never had that kind of experience at my Starbucks.

I want to know when you will post the winners of the Pinterest contest though! I jumped on that right away and I'm pretty sure I'm a winner!

@Karessh - A communication to the Pinterest Contest entrants is in the works.  You should receive an email letting you know if you won or not.

When will the Verism System V·585 be available in store? or when will Starbucks products be able to ship to Canada?

@gracebagnas:  There is now an online Starbucks Store for Canada.  Visit - http://www.starbucksstore.ca/

During my store visit today, I saw the Verismo next to the register and asked the barista when their next demo would be (thinking it'd be Thursday sometime).  He said "Now!" and after asking me about my drink preferences, proceeded to demo it by making a latte.  I have seen pictures people have posted and read about it, and had high expectations.  I was also thoroughly impressed!

@kitteyandkat - This sounds bizarre and very unfortunate.  You can follow up and share your experience with Customer Service.  Hopefully you still have your receipt to reference.

Are the machines in other retail stores too? Aprox. what will they run in cost?

Why would you walk in at 5:54 and expect things to go smoothly?

bruyere17

It doesn't matter what time the person walked in... the point is that they were treated terribly and abused (about 1.50 dollars extra! What if the barista does that to any customer who doesn't notice or doesn't know the prices?). The barista should either be fired or get a warning... and this customer comment should be forwarded to customer services...

@kittyandkat I am sorry that you were treated horribly.  I have been treated that way at a cold stone creamery and never went back to that particular store.  I'm sure not all the starbucks in your area are disrespectful.

@sbx_bean I see that you work for starbucks and you don't even mention Kittyandkat in your responses.  That says so much about your company and You!

Kitteyandkat, I am sorry you had to experience that. I would have spoke up because no one needs treated like that for you and him! Knock on wood I have not had that type of care and im sorry when you pay that much for coffee then they should be alittle nicer, please people if you hate ur job that much then get a new job dont treat the rest of people like crap!!! I love love love starbucks but def uber expensive. Excited by this new machine but great question will other kcups be able to use that system. My boyfriend loves DD coffee (he doesnt like to have to make so many decisions about coffee) lol but if the system could use both so I could have my pumpkin spice latte and his coffee would be amazing!

My baristas are not friendly every visit @Kroger's in Sev. Tn. If you ask them questions they roll their eyes and are very impatient!

Are the "pods" recyclable or biodegradable?  I don't really like the thought of adding MORE packaging to our landfills.

Today I tried to enter your give away.  I followed the directions with a promise to be linked to gift retrieval. I waited for a very long time and tried to go through the process again with. The same results.  I am very disappointed.   Is there something more I need to do?  Thank you for your attention to this matter.  I am a true fan of Starbucks and always enjoy visiting and yes, my delicious beverage! Thank you

When can we expect the Verismo V585 at Macy's?  Currently the Verismo site says it's exclusively available at Williams Sonoma until 11/23 - does this mean that other stores like Macy's will get the V585 after this date too?

Don't waste your money on the Verismo.  Substandard in quality and lacking in versatility.  I gave away the free machine that I was given by corporate.  Another big time Sbux blunder.
