Introducing the Newest Mug in Our Collection – Made in the USA!

In response to your ideas and as a part of our ongoing mission to create jobs in the USA, we are excited to announce that our new Starbucks® Logo Mugs have been designed, sourced and made in the USA. But not just anywhere in the USA. We collaborated with Ulrich Honighausen to open the American Pioneer Manufacturing (APM) factory in the heart of the ceramics community, Waterford Ohio. Because of this collaboration, Ulrich was able to hire over 20 skilled craftsmen who delicately mix the raw materials, create the molds and hand glaze the mugs, one-by-one.

When describing the APM factory, Ulrich explained, “It is a collaboration of shared values between a small company with a dream and a large company with vision and purpose.”

We are proud to not only produce the quality mugs our My Starbucks Idea customers have asked for, but to help bring the Ohio ceramics community back to life.

Thanks for all your great ideas—they really do make a big difference.

Inspired by your ideas:

That's fabulous! You don't know how many times I didn't but a Starbucks coffee mug because our all American coffee company had their mugs made in China!

Thank you!

I will purchase one this week to show my support and to contribute to the new jobs you just created. Well done!

Thank you!  It looks like a quality mug, nicely shaped, and I appreciate the simple design.  More is not always better!  Although I am hoping it is a large mug because more coffee is better!

This is outstanding news. I'm looking forward to finding these new mugs in my favorite store. Hopefully they are of the same quality as the Indivisible mugs.

I can't wait to try this new mug. The naturally curved edge should work well for sipping a cup of coffee. Thanks

I wholeheartedly support this as a very good idea.  However, I must ask the most obvious question to me, why not make the US CITY mugs in America, instead of China?  I am put off everytime I see MADE IN CHINA on the bottom of a city mug!  I would be much happy to see- Made in America- FOR AMERICA!

I too applaud this first step back to making Starbucks products in the USA! I'd really like to see all Starbucks products from gift cards to coffee makers made in America by the Americans who have supported your business from day one!!!

The mug reminds me too of the mugs at the cafe/diners here in the east I frequented after a night at work or a night out. I'll be proud to own one.

Re-release the Global Icon Series to us North American collectors and have them made in USA... A lot of us collectors are upset that you discontinued them here yet the rest of the world still has them in circulation... PLEASE bring back our beloved Icons in USA and Canada.

Anything that can be manufatured in America vs outsourcing is a positive for this country. Hurray to Starbucks for making the BEST coffee on the planet first of all. Bless them for their "Made in America" policies and if they REALLY want to help their loyal customers, maybe Starbucks could try to do more about their pricing structure to help us poor people afford their great product.

cinamon swirl coffee cake  When you dropprdit you lodt me as a daily customer.  what were you thinking?   quite often my starbucks would be sold out early in the morning until I talked with the manager who then increased her order.  Now my morning stop will be Panera Bread until you bring back the cinamon swirl coffee cake.  I have a Kereg and make my Pike Place at home.  I used to spend about $100 a month @ your coffee shops.  not a great deal of money but you lost a loyal customer. Not particularly happy with your change in sweets.

Bravo!  I was so eager to support this decision to offer mugs made in the U.S.A. that I promptly purchased two.  It's highly unusual for me to purchase anything extra these days due to being on a very tight budget; but I believe in bringing job opportunities back to the U.S.A.  I love the mug!  It has quality of craftsmanship.  Drinking my coffee from it, gives me a feeling of pride, and makes me smile, with a renewed sense of optimism for the future, if we choose to invest in creating job opportunities in the U.S.A.

So pleased with your made in the USA mug.  I have already purchased two and plan to get more.  It is real quality and I love the look.

Years ago, you sold tall water glasses that had a Starbucks insignia that looked frosted on the front.  I would love it if you could bring these back.

As long as there is a choice between MADE IN THE USA and  Made Everywhere Else then i am happy. That way you have an option to spend more on M.I.T.USA or buy a cheaper mug made elsewhere.

Re release the US and CAN global icon mugs!! It's so unfair that the rest of the world keeps getting new release ICON mugs and BOTH US&CANADA has the ugly YOU ARE HERE SERIES!! CMON now! It's obviously not original design due to its a copy from DUNKIN DONUT. And the DESIGNS are NOT very appealing...

Great! To echo another comment...now on to the city mugs. They should be made in America also. I've been collecting those for my daughter. St. Louis is my favorite. Was very disappointed that there is no Charleston, SC mug. One the most historic and beautiful cities in the country and they don't rate their own mug??? What's up with that?

Someone needs to be honest here: this mug is poorly made! Half have glaze bumps and bubbles, and many have gouges and defects in the base. I so wanted this to be a high quality mug, but am left wondering if the Chinese now make better quality products than US craftsmen. Disappointing....

Why can't Starbucks manufacture all their items locally as well? Having 20 skilled craftsmen in Ohio work on a couple of mugs sounds more like a "token" gesture.
