More Stars from My Starbucks Rewards™

You’ve asked for it time and time again, and waited patiently for the big day to come. Well here it is. At StarbucksStore.com and participating Starbucks stores, when you buy any bag of coffee, a package of Starbucks VIA Instant Coffee (excluding single sticks), K-cup® packs or Verismo™ pods, you’ll earn one Star for each of those items purchased—not one per transaction, one Star for every packaged coffee item. And that’s in addition to the transaction Star you always earn when you pay with your registered Starbucks Card.

Starbucks stores aren’t the only place to earn Stars, grocery stores too— look down the grocery aisle for products like packaged coffee and Starbucks VIA® Latte Instant Coffee with specially marked packages. Enter the Star code at Starbucks.com to add another Star to your My Starbucks Rewards™ cup.

Thanks for all the great ideas, and we hope you enjoy the updates.

Star rewards don't cut it for bean purchases

YEAH!  People at Starbucks are listening!  So, If I now buy a beverage, and a bag of coffee, at the same time, I get TWO stars for that transaction!  However, if I decide to split my purchase, and I purchase my beverage first, and then wait to purchase my bag of coffee before I leave, I get two stars for that transaction.  So, I then leave with THREE stars instead of two.  This makes so much more sense.

Which begs the question, why not just move to a base star for the initial transaction, and one star for each item purchased thereafter on the same receipt?

Can you only use this code and purchase once during the three days?  I got my 25% discount and extra star with a coffee bean purchase.  I am also in the market for a new mug, but didn't see any at that store I liked.  If I go to another location, will I be able to use the code again to get the 25% discount on a mug?

I was so excited when I used my BOGO coffee reward and added 3 stars to my reward page. I never ment to become a Starbuck's snob but other coffee brands just don't taste good to me. My only disappointment is that StarBucks doesn't offer food that's gluten free and they could offer a few more decaf choices. In December of 2013, I had some cists that returned in my breast and drinking caffiene causes them to flare up and become painful. For this reason I switch to Starbuck's decaf but I miss all my favorite coffees like Trubute, Komodo Dragon Blend, and the Gold Coast Blend.

Not much use as I can't use rewards at Safeway. I'm disabled, and the local Safeway is the closest SB. Oh, well. Grateful there are rewards at all!

Not three instead of two... she said: "At StarbucksStore.com and participating Starbucks stores, when you buy:

* any bag of coffee

* a package of Starbucks VIA Instant Coffee (excluding single sticks)

* K-cup® packs or Verismo™ pods

You’ll earn ONE Star for each of those items purchased—NOT one per transaction, ONE Star for every PACKAGED coffee item. And that’s in addition to the transaction Star you always earn when you pay with your registered Starbucks Card.

So, if you purchase your bag of coffee after you buy your drink, you still get one star, not two for that one bag.

Drink + bag = 2 stars

Drink(s) + bag = 1 star

Drink + no bag(s) = 1 star

Drink + 1 bag = 2 stars

Drink + 1 bag of coffee, 1 K-Cup, 1 VIA or Verismo POD = 3 stars

Beverage = 1 star

1 bag of coffee, 1 K-Cup, 1 VIA (excluding single sticks) or Verismo POD = 1 star each.

wow, yes they are listening just wish I had waited to buy the Oh, I don't know, around twenty pounds of coffee I bought a couple of weeks ago! I can see just how hard you guys are working to take things into consideration and make changes but you should go back about a month and reward your loyal customers that are going to obviously feel gyped by this happening now after the idea has come across about a dozen times at least. I can't help but feel that I have been ripped off without getting rewarded for all the money I have spent and then a couple of weeks later this decision is finally made. Not to complain too badly but it just seems that the people that have been so loyal to you and spent so much money should also get the rewards that they deserve.

Just got off the phone with customer service for a 2nd time. I purchased $125 order on line with my registered Starbucks card, & didn't receive any stars on 3/28/14. I called customer service on the 29th & was given 2 stars. Today I read the article "More Stars from My Starbucks Rewards" & I called customer service back for my transaction star, which was never mentioned on the 29th. Oy, such an inconvenience having to call in....not once, but twice. :(

Um mm mm what about thanking your military personnel who Starbucks bash. They offer a senior discount but no military . I understand it's hard to live with the everyday struggle of being elderly, but what about the everyday struggle serving our country and not getting enough recognition.  I just find it obscure there is a "senior" discount but no "military"

I think the star system should count per item purchased not per transaction.  I normally buy 4 drinks in one trip and sometimes food with it. I still only get one star with my purchase.  But I learned from a friend,  if you ask the ringer to ring it up in different transaction you get more stars.

I think that you people need to stop whining about free coffee and free stars for certain classes of people. Starbucks is a business, not a welfare program.

This is a really Great Idea, Rewards for Whole-Bean, K-Cup,

VIA, and Verismo POD  purchases.

Great Work & Thank You  Katie R / Sbucks Corp.

Will Whole-Box of Tea's be Next ??

Or maybe they are already ?

Is there a Page? within Sbucks Website, that breaks-down

and explains exactly how STAR'S are Earned ?

Congrat's to All-Us "Gold"ers!!

They being "Starbucks" a "Business"

started this "Rewards" Program, seperating certain classes of

people, (by our personal choice), as to Type of Card Level

we choose to participate in.

So, No-One is asking for "Welfare", and certainly Not for Anything Other than what They, (Starbucks Corp.) themselves created.

You Do Realize the Ultimate Reason is to Benefit Them, through their own Rewards created Program.

Each Cardholder's Purchases & Buying Habit's are Tracked Electronically, and Info. is used for Their Benefit - NOT OURS !!

I was looking, and it may have been touched on, but I was not able to see it.

Is there a way to receive stars, and/or use the Starbucks card to pay at Barnes and Nobles? I am sure that it is a very long and convoluted process to get it working. I was just wondering since it is working at grocery stores it might be nice to get it while I am reading, as well as shopping.

Thank Much,

Kevin.

It would be nice it multiple drinks purchased at the same time would give multiple stars.  Sometimes I take my granddaughters to Starbucks and buy 3 or 4 drinks at the same time.

My wish is that we could use our "reward" for birthday or stars or whatever at the airport, but they are never a "participating" store.

It's nice to see that so much of the doom and gloom predicted by others here at MSI, should there be changes like this in the rewards program, that there would be a huge increase in the number of stars needed to redeem for a free item.  Thankfully such has not been the case!  Congrats on expanding the program, while still providing the same level of redemption for those who do not avail themselves of these new additional star offerings.

My biggest issue is and always has been not getting stars for multiple items.  It's inconvenient for the barista, myself and those in line behind me to have to scan my card for each individual item if I want my stars.

last week while on vacation I bought two coffees and two oatmeal cups.  It was at a store that couldn't scan a card and had to put in my number manually.  I didn't want to make the poor girl type it in 4 times, so i sucked it up and made it one transaction.

Makes me feel like i was robbed of 3 stars though. :(

I spend way too much at Starbucks as it is and this issue definitely keeps me from spending more those times I don't want to take up too much time scanning over and over.  I can't be the only one and it must add up to quite a bit lost revenue and/or unhappy experiences.

Wish Starbucks would give itemized stars in one transaction.

Have you changed the style of the disposable coffee lids?  It seems so - wish you would bring back the old ones.  Not sure why, but these ones leak - it's pretty messy having coffee splash up on my hands from the side of the lid (not to mention annoying too).
