Celebrating the Lunar New Year
Exciting news from the card team! In honor of the Chinese New Year we are offering a lunar New Year card in the majority of our markets. A nod to The Year of the Dragon, the beautiful design illustrates the strength, courage and prosperity the Dragon is sure to deliver in 2012. The card comes with a matching red envelope perfect for hongbao, the Chinese tradition of giving “lucky money” stashed in red envelopes to family and loved ones on holidays and special occasions. You can pick one up at all company stores and select licensed stores in the US, Canada, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea & Singapore. This eye catching card, also available as an eGift through Starbucks.com, is a great … more »

Happy Holidays, My name is Steve and I work on the Music team. If you’re pressed for some last-minute stocking stuffers (and who isn’t?), don’t panic. Roll into a participating U.S. or Canada Starbucks this weekend – December 18-19 – and pick up a CD or two or three. With each CD purchased you’ll receive a free $5 Starbucks Card. While supplies last. Our current music selection encompasses a range of tastes, so you may well be able to check a bunch of names off your list. Sleigh Ride Side by Side , our annual assortment of golden-age holiday music, is a spirited holiday staple, while Annie Lennox’s A Christmas Cornucopia offers stately traditional Yuletide … more »
Answering Your Starbucks® Natural Fusions Questions
Hi! My name is Mani, and I worked on the development and launch of Starbucks® Natural Fusions . We’ve heard lots of your comments and questions, and we wanted to make sure that you have the latest information. Many of you have asked: where’s hazelnut? We hear you on this flavor request. Because Starbucks® Natural Fusions are made with natural flavors and real ingredients ground right in, developing a nut-based product has allergen implications that we have to work through. I can’t promise we’ll figure this out, but we are definitely looking at it. We would also love to figure out how to offer a mocha-flavored coffee – more to come on this front! One other … more »

Vancouver B.C. Opens its First LEED® Registered Store
On March 10, 2011, we opened Vancouver’s first LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) registered store. Located at the corner of West Hastings and Howe streets, this beautiful store exemplifies our approach to store design and commitment for all new stores globally to be LEED® certified. Our Canadian store development and design teams have been busy renovating stores to link them more closely to the communities they serve. As stores are built and renovated, the teams look to source materials and employ craftspeople on a local basis, incorporating reused and recycled elements where possible. The West Hastings and Howe Store reflects this vision. The wood tabletop for … more »
Wow!
Dear passionate Starbucks Customers: WOW. We knew that a lot of our customers had ideas for us. And OK, so we thought that, just maybe, an online community would be a valuable way to get some good ideas, participate in a little bit of conversation with our most passionate customers, and see what the total customer community thought was most important for Starbucks to pursue. We did not expect this. What you've done is awesome. We are completely thrilled at the number of ideas (thousands!). We are stunned by the level of conversation (half of the top 20 ideas have 50 or more comments each -- 50!). We are stoked by the amount of participation (tens of thousands of votes). When I first announced … more »
One lump or two?
I love this idea that was posted by Twyloo a couple of weeks ago: Re-invent British "afternoon tea" - Starbucks style . It’s got me dreaming of warm scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream. What do you think, tea drinkers?
