Phoenix has risen again in the form of our new “You Are Here” mugs. Starting this spring the collection will feature select hotspots like New Orleans, San Francisco, Seattle and more!

Can Your Business Use Square?

Recently, we announced a collaboration with Square and started accepting mobile payments using Square Wallet at most of our U.S. stores. So far, a number of you have used the payment app at Starbucks. We would love to hear your feedback on this and any ideas you have for us regarding Square Wallet.

Beginning this month Starbucks will sell Square Mobile Card Readers in our U.S. stores. The Square Mobile Card Reader allows business owners to easily and inexpensively accept credit card payments. It costs $10, and you get a $10 credit from Square if you register a new Square account. You can learn more at Square’s website.

Take a look at this video to see how a farmer’s market vendor uses Square and the positive impact on the business. So if you’re a furniture seller on Craig’s List, a professional dog walker, or working on the next big thing; do ask about the Square Mobile Reader at your local Starbucks.

We’re starting things off tomorrow with an idea you’ve asked for on My Starbucks Idea: a free drink with tumbler or mug purchase. For December 1, 2012, that’ exactly what you’ll get: buy any reusable tumbler or mug and you’ll get a free Grande (16 fl oz) handcrafted beverage.

December 1 is also World AIDS Day. Starbucks has donated over $11 million to the Global Fund to help fight AIDS in Africa. This year we’re teaming up again with (RED). Starbucks for Rodarte, a Fashionable Holiday Combination

We’re always inspired by great design – and we know lots of people like us who are hard to shop for at this time of year. That’s why Starbucks asked Rodarte – the award-winning design house founded in 2005 by Kate and Laura Mulleavy – to help us design a collection of items for the fashion-minded.

As daily coffee drinkers, Kate and Laura were excited for the chance and challenge. The gray-and-silver pixilated pattern they chose as an overarching element is inspired from their interest in abstraction. Inspired by the iconic Starbucks logo, the pattern reveals an inspired touch of modern sensibility.

As Laura said, “What was really exciting was working with a brand that has such a signature visual identity and culture. Everyone recognizes the Starbucks logo.”
