Here’s the idea from Sarah with a H that sparked the action:

I send support letters and packages to military personal overseas. They LOVE the Via products and I would like to send them more or sign up soldiers for an automatic delivery. At the moment your mailing system won't accept an FPO/APO. It would be great if there could be a discount or free delivery to an FPO/APO. GOOD instant coffee such as VIA is a great gift to anyone serving abroad!<<user:Sarah with a H>>

Today I’m happy to say that we have confirmed that StarbucksStore.com not only accepts FPO/APO mailing addresses but we have also lowered the starting shipping rates for FPO/APO addresses to be the same as the contiguous 48 states!

Thank you Sarah for your great idea. To the rest of you – please continue send us your amazing ideas – we are listening!

Adam

The Return of Treat Receipt

We are listening to you and the Treat Receipt is back!

The Treat Receipt is our version of Happy Hour and beginning June 30 through September 29, customers who make any purchase before 2 p.m. at participating stores can return the same day after 2 p.m., present their receipt and purchase any Grande (16 fl. oz) cold drink for only $2 (plus tax if applicable). So, when you make your next purchase before 2 p.m., remember to save your receipt, so you can return to Starbucks and enjoy great savings and a refreshing cold beverage.

This treat will be offered all summer long! So you will have the opportunity to try all sorts of tasty drinks, from the new Strawberry Banana Vivanno™ Smoothie to the scrumptious Caramel Frappuccino® blended beverage.

This blog was inspired by your ideas: Happy Hour, Bring back the $2 after 2 for summer!

Newest Idea Under Review

I just wanted to write a quick blog about the newest idea "Under Review" - Send a friend a cup of coffee online.

We agree with you that this is a super exciting idea and it's one that we've been poking at for a while now. This week, one of our executives decided that we should officially put this idea "Under Review" as he's going to take a look at it and see if it is something we should launch or not. We hope to have more news to share with you sometime this summer after the team has had some time to do research and make a decision.

Now that the idea is "Under Review", you can't vote or comment on it anymore. But, all is not lost. Please use this space to continue the conversation around the idea.

Gracias!

Current whole bean seasonal offerings include Colombia Nariño Supremo (nutty, medium intensity), Brazil Ipanema Bourbon® (mild intensity), and Bella Vista F.W. StarbucksStore.com is also offering three ground Limited Reserve coffees including Sumatra Aceh, Colombia South Huila, and South Tanzania.

Pike Place(tm) Roast has recently been added to the core coffee line up at the online store. I enjoy this very approachable coffee when I’m hurrying through my local café. On a leisurely weekend I dwell over other favorites when they are available, such as my all-time hands-down-last-coffee-drink-on-earth favorite Ethiopia Harrar (last appearing as a Black Apron Exclusive® in June 2004) or Arabian Mocha Sanani (returning for a seasonal appearance next Month).

Brewed Coffee in the afternoon

There have been many comments and posts about brewed coffee availability in the afternoon. I want to acknowledge that we’ve heard your frustrations, share our policies around decaf and Today’s Morning Pick (our bolder offering), and try to offer some resolution for those of you who aren’t receiving the experience you expect from Starbucks.

We last communicated our brewed coffee standards to you on MSI in January. I wanted to share these again to help clarify.
• Decaf Pike Place Roast™ and Today’s Morning Pick should be continually brewed until 12 p.m. in all stores. (from 5 a.m. until 12 p.m. in 24-hour stores)
• After 12 p.m., stores should consider their customers’ preferences to judge whether they continue to brew batches of these coffees or brew when ordered.
• When a customer requests Decaf or Today’s Morning Pick and the store does not have it brewed, your barista should offer to brew a fresh batch while acknowledging the wait time.

Some of our MSI customers tell us that they’ve had difficulty getting a fresh brewed cup of decaf or Today's Morning Pick coffee when ordered in the afternoon. Although we believe that this situation may be a result of misunderstanding our brewing policies at those stores, you deserve to have a great experience at Starbucks and we want to make that happen. We will be re-communicating this standard to stores.

While it is helpful for us to be made aware of these issues at MSI, we ask that you reach out to our Customer Contact Center (www.starbucks.com/customer/contact.asp or call (800)-235-2883). They can capture the specifics of your situation and address it with the appropriate store. In addition, when you are in the store, please ask to speak to the store manager or shift supervisor on duty, or email the district manager. Each store should have a business card available with that email address. We appreciate your loyalty to Starbucks and look forward to serving you the freshest brewed coffee.

*Pike Place is a trademark of the Pike Place Market PDA, used under license.

Introducing Artisan Breakfast Sandwiches

Hi, it’s Erin on the food team and I’m super excited to talk to you today about our new Artisan Breakfast Sandwiches. You’ve continued to ask for a wider selection of breakfast options and we’ve heard you. We have also listened to your feedback on MSI about your disappointment around the Ham and Egg Sandwich being removed from the menu. You said Ham was one of your morning favorites and one of our new Artisan Sandwiches will feature Black Forest Ham. Beginning March 3, our two new offerings available in participating stores in the U.S. are:

• Artisan Bacon Sandwich, a flavorful bakery-style sandwich made with a parmesan egg frittata, four smoked bacon slices, and Gouda cheese on a perfectly-baked hand-shaped artisan roll
• Artisan Ham Sandwich, a delightful combination featuring a parmesan egg frittata, Black Forest ham, and mild cheddar on a perfectly-baked hand-shaped artisan roll
