The empty bag is essentially a coupon for a tall coffee. I don't see how a Starbucks owned store can refuse it. I was still able to exchange a bag for a free tall coffee at a So Calif store recently with no problem.

I have many supermarket bags that I would like to use.

Can I? Where?

Thanks!

I'm reading in the comments here that franchised but not licensed stores will still honor the coupon on the bag, but I was just in a franchised store and was told by the barista that this location would not be able to honor the bags anymore, but if I take it to Kroger or Target (licensed) they would honor it. This is very confusing, and I wish Starbucks would make it clear to everyone, or just honor what coupons are already out there and change the coupon in the future.

Honestly, the main reason I bought Starbucks coffee at the grocery store was so that every other week or so I could grab a free tall coffee on my way in to work. There are many options in the grocery store, and although I like Starbucks coffee, I like other brands too...which go on sale more frequently.

Wow, if this is true, then shame on Starbucks for false advertising. If this is the case, then I have lost all respect and trust this company. I have never heard of any company refusing to accept their own printed discount (accept in the case the coupon had expired). Someone over at headquarters is pinching pennies.......Looks bad to the consumers who have been loyal to Starbucks. Hello Peets...........
